World Health Organization’s Global Status Report on Non-Communicable Diseases 2014 states that NCDs account for 63% of the mortality and an annual loss of 5-10% of GDP in India due to a loss in productivity. Diabetes, hypertension, cancer and chronic respiratory diseases remain the main types of NCDs in India. MIHM has worked extensively in some of these areas to understand the underlying reasons and to develop cost-effective models for their effective management.
