The Hyderabad Chapter of 10,000 Women, a certificate course for women entrepreneurs, in association with Goldman Sachs was launched in October, 2008. For the first batch, there were 29 women entrepreneurs who were mentored during the twelve week long programme. They were mentored by a set of both online and offline mentors, apart from an extremely accomplished group of faculty teaching them. This is an initiative funded by Goldman Sachs to provide world class education that will help the participants unleash their full potential, think big, and grow their businesses.

Details of the First Batch

Women entrepreneurs from various fields like, telecom services, garment manufacturing, training schools for children, multimedia and web designing, etc were a part of this illustrious first batch.

The modules covered during the first session of the certificate programme were, the Accounts module, the Entrepreneurship module, the Marketing module, and the Strategy module. There were two other sessions too which were held, during the months of December, 2008 and January, 2009. For more details on the modules click here

As a part of their course they also participated in a business plan competition, where we had nine women entrepreneurs who were adjudged as winners in the First Round and three who were declared winners in the Final Round.

The winners of the First Round were, Sunitha Nair, Yojana Veerender, Varsha Mahendra, Mamatha Puducheri, Y N Lalitha, Sonali  Srikanth, Sayed Mehjabeen Hussein, Aparna  Sood and Kalpana Rao. The winners of the Final Round were, Sunitha Nair, Mamatha Puducheri, Y N Lalitha.
