Training of the next generation of researchers is an important activity at CAF. CAF organises training programmes and workshops in finance for practitioners and researchers so that they are able use the existing knowledge pool and make some useful contribution to financial policy-making. During the course of their research they are expected and encouraged to publish in renowned journals and present papers at national and international conferences. Siddharth Vij, CAF Researcher, very recently has presented a paper at the Financial Intermediation Research Society (FIRS) annual conference. This conference is a top International Finance Research Conference.

After their graduation from the PGP programme at the ISB, the students may consider working with CAF as Researchers.

Researchers at CAF are recruited to work on projects at CAF for a couple of years after which they are expected to move to top tier institutes for PhD programmes. The purpose of this scheme is as mentioned earlier, is training the next generation of researchers. It is at the same time expected that these researchers will continue to work with the centre in joint projects. This year, two of our researchers, Naveen Reddy and Manpreet Singh, have been admitted into the Finance PhD programs at Kellogg and HKUST respectively. These are among the top-ranked phD programs in the world. In earlier years, CAF Researchers Vishal Mangla and Vidya Kamate were admitted into the Finance PhD program at Kellogg in 2008 and 2009 respectively while Leena Kinger Hans was admitted to the Accounting PhD program at London Business School in 2010.
