Late R Ravimohan was the Managing Director and Region Head, South Asia, Standard & Poor's.  Standard & Poor's operates as a financial services company. Its products and services include credit ratings, equity research, S&P indices, funds ratings, risk solutions, governance services, evaluations, and data services.

Prior to this, he was Region Head of South and  Southeast Asia Division and Managing Director of Standard & Poor's Corporation since May 2008. He also served as Managing Director of CRISIL Ltd. (formerly Credit Rating Information Services of India Ltd.). He served as the Country Head of Standard & Poor's - India since July 27, 2007. He joined Standard & Poor's in August 2007. He served as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of CRISIL Ltd., a subsidiary of Standard & Poor's, from 1994 to July 27, 2007.

Ravimohan also served as a Member of the Advisory Committee of Securities and Exchange Board of India and as a member of the National Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry. He was the Chairman of the Best Practices Committee and the Member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Credit Rating Agencies in Asia.

Before this assignment, he set up the OTC Exchange of India (OTCEI), the country’s first electronic stock exchange, as its Chief Executive Officer.

He started his career with The ICICI Ltd. where he held several assignments in project appraisal, systems designing, credit administration and merchant banking.

Ravimihan was formally qualified as a Chemical Engineer and had completed the Advanced Management Programme from Harvard Business School.
