SIX SIGMA: The Indian Way December 13, 2009
The Hyderabad Chapter of the ISB CEE Alumni Association, held its first ever CEE family event for its members on December 13, 2009. On this ocassion, a great Supply Management session titled "Six Sigma: The Indian Way" was conducted by Manish Tripathi of the Mumbai Dabbawala Association. The event was attended by a record number of participants close to 200 and was held at the Khemka auditorium. Members, spouses, children and youth attended this enthralling session and were left spellbound at the end of a great learning and entertaining acquired during this session. A special edutainment for children was organised parallely at the recreation centre by Evergrowth Events sponsored by Shridhar Constructions.
Manish Sinha, on behalf of the ISB announced Pradeep Dhobale to continue as the President this year. Auknoor Guatam will be the Vice President and Sanjeev Jain the Secretary. Certificates for the same were presented to them by Deepak Chandra, Deputy Dean. ISB also announced Radha Rani as the Chair- Membership Drive, Shridhar as the Chair - Finance and Dipali Mehta as Chair- Events.
CEE mementos were presented to Manish Tripathi and Jaisingh Apale of Mumbai Dabbawala Association by Vice President Auknoor Guotham. Pradeep Dhobale expressed satisfaction with the way the Association has grown to reach 117 members and over 200 attendees. The programme was then followed by networking over a sumptuous lunch.
Creative Thinking: The Meta Mind Way August 29, 2009
Hyderabad Chapter of CEE Alumni Association conducted their fourth event on August 29, 2009. The workshop on "Creative Thinking: The Meta Mind Way", was sponsored by GE Money and was held at their own campus. Ravathi Turaga, an international Meta Mind Trainer, Inspirational Speaker and Behavioral Coach enthralled the audience for almost two hours covering topics like Lateral Thinking, Creativity and Six Thinking Hats and made even CEOs get into learning mode. The entire group of over 65 alumni were seen posing as the 'Laughing Buddha' at the end of the programme which was a great stress buster.
President Pradeep Dhobale expressed satisfaction with the way the Association has grown to cross 80 members. The Programme was followed by a lunch and ended with a farewell gift to Champa Ganguli, one of the founder members and Head of Events Committee.
Marketing Innovations in Turbulent Times April 25, 2009
At the Hyderabad Chapter meet, held on April 25, 2009, a large congregation of alums met to network and take an overview of their Chapter. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the US Consul General, Cornelis M Keur. He was welcomed by Deepak Chandra and CEE officials Pradeep Dhobale, President of the Hyderabad Chapter and Dr A Goutam, Secretary of the Hyderabad Chapter. The Consul General in his address spoke about India’s diversity, and how India’s scientific and engineering talents and entrepreneurial skills, have driven the world economy in the last 30 years. Dhobale mentioned that the Chapter was, “A learning platform to take ahead the ISB experience in a structured manner.” Among some of the future activities planned were coaching of SMEs and entrepreneurs, conducting learning and networking events, and also building climate change awareness. This was followed by Professor Arun Pereira’s presentation on marketing innovations during the times of downturn.
Strategies during Troubled Times December 10, 2008
At Hyderabad, more than 40 alumni attended an insightful talk by Professor Charles Dhanraj, from Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. He spoke on a very interesting theme of how one should look at strategy during the troubled times. He dwelt upon what organisations should do and what they are not doing. Professor Dhanraj’s presentation had a lot of emphasis on innovation and he had drawn parallels from organisational responses at various economic downturns in history. Quite a few live case studies were also discussed. At this meet , a talk was also hosted on environmental friendly growth initiatives.
Hyderabad Chapter Launch July 19, 2008
The Centre for Executive Education celebrated their first Alumni Meet at the Indian School of Business (ISB) on July 25, 2008, and also launched the Hyderabad Chapter of the CEE Alumni Association. Former Dean Rao in his address urged the alumni to come together through a forum like this and take initiatives of mentorship – e.g. adopt tier 2 management schools and offer expertise to these institutions. “You can also play a vital role in strengthening the CEE and its activities,” he added. As the evening proceeded, alumni Pradeep Dhobale, Divisional Chief Executive, ITC Limited, was unanimously elected as President of the CEE Alumni Association, Hyderabad Chapter. Alumni A Goutam, CEO, SmarTeach, was chosen as Secretary. Dhobale mentioned, “I accept the position of President of the CEE Alumni Association, Hyderabad Chapter, with utmost humility. To my mind, a forum like this can bring academics and industry closer together for effective contribution to nation building.”
