Dr Anand, Medical Director, Hunter-Kane

Dr Anand is the Medical Director for HunterKane Ltd, UK, is a holistic doctor who believes in health and healing but not through drugs and surgery. He is a UK NHS Doctor since 1978, Lecturer Newcastle University Medical College since 1985, Expert in Drug Addiction Counselling Since 1990, Founder Integrated Health2000 since 1994, Founder Gurukul, Indian Classical Teaching Institute, since 1997, and Medical expertise in Stress relief since 2005. He is a member of several groundbreaking organisations for Integrated and Holistic health care and still works at the Elmfield Health Group in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Prakash Apte, CEO, Syngenta, India

Prakash Apte took his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pune in 1976.  Besides a post-graduate base in Management Studies, he has wide exposure to international management practices. Prakash’s career record spans across a period of over 30 years.  As a fresh, aspirant Engineer, he started his career in 1976 with Larsen & Toubro. He joined Hindustan Ciba-Geigy in 1980 where he held various responsible positions. He moved to Hindustan Ciba-Geigy’s Santa Monica Plant in Goa in 1987 where he headed the Company’s Agrochemicals Unit from 1990 till 1994.  He relocated to Mumbai to head the Crop Protection Division of Hindustan Ciba-Geigy and when Hindustan Ciba-Geigy merged with Sandoz to form Novartis, Prakash was nominated Sector Head for Crop Protection.

Dr NB Sudarshan Acharya, National Coordinator, Lead India 2020 Foundation

Professor (Dr) N B Sudershan Acharya is the Founder and National Coordinator, Lead India 2020 Foundation, the second national movement for developed India carrying forward the vision and mission of former President of India HE Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. He has been developing a group of educational / professional institutions from 1982 to present. He is also the Founder for Bala Bharathi Sikshana Samithi (Value based training for children and youth-1982).His interest in research areas and work in progress are: individual problems leading to national problems, mass transformation of youth of India to lead India to lead the World by year 2020, establishing Lead India Virtual University to impact courses on good citizenship, good governance, human transformation, parental education and human values for human excellence and marriage education for harmonious living. He has received awards such as “Vidya Marthanda” Award – 2002 by Bharatiya Sanskriti Nirman Parishad and “Eminent Citizen of India” Award – 2003 by National & International Compendium.

Jim Arena, Senior Director, Integration, Business Objects/SAP

Jim Arena is an experienced technology executive with over 20 years of experience in creating new businesses and new revenue initiatives for Fortune 500 companies.  He began his career at Hewlett Packard and took a series of cross organisation assignments in the Enterprise, Commercial and Consumer businesses.  Late in his career with HP, he was the Director of Integration in the Office of the CEO for the $25B HP/Compaq merger.  When he left HP, he applied his expertise in leading large scale change programmes by joining Business Objects as the Senior Director of Integration.  Business Objects was recently acquired by SAP and he co-led the people integration for the $7B acquisition.  Most of his career has been spent on motivating and sustaining transformational change so it becomes an integral part of a companies’ DNA.

Om Prakash Bhatt, Chairman, State Bank Group

Om Prakash Bhatt studied science at the undergraduate level as a National Science Talent Search Scholar. After graduating, he did his Masters in English. Om Prakash began his banking career soon after his 21st birthday as a Probationary Officer with State Bank of India, an institution which he has continued to serve for the last 34 years, covering a whole variety of assignments covering both domestic and international banking. He was very closely involved with State Bank of India's ambitious computerisation project and spent 6 years coordinating the team's efforts from the Bank's Corporate Centre at Mumbai. From there he went to Jaipur as head of a Region, which was followed by a year's stint as Personal Secretary to the Chairman of State Bank Group.

Dinesh Chandra, CEO, DNA Global Network

Dinesh Chandra is the co-founder of DNA Global Network Inc, a management consulting firm. He is considered a global citizen and works in the field of global leadership development. After working as Director of Productivity/Quality at Beckman-Coulter, he successfully launched a management consulting firm and a product management company. This enabled him to work in the US and in fifteen other countries, acquiring a global skill set and working with leading organisations like American Express, Cisco, Eicher-Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Harley-Davidson, Larsen & Toubro, Oracle, Port of Singapore Authority, and Tata Group.

Dr Debashis Chatterjee, Dean, SP Jain Centre for Management

Dr Debashis Chatterjee has taught leadership for more than a decade at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow and at IIM, Calcutta. He pioneered and founded the global Center for Leadership and Human Values at IIM, Lucknow. He has been awarded the prestigious Fulbright Fellowship twice for pre-Doctoral and Post-doctoral work at Harvard University and MIT. He also taught in the MBA programmes at the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota and at the Harvard Graduate School of Business. Debashis is currently Dean, Leadership Centre, SP Jain Centre of Management, Singapore. His publications include several internationally published books such as ‘Leading Consciously’ that was adjudged among the top 5 international management titles of 1998 by the magazine Management General published from the United States.

Swami Chidananda, Jt. Secretary, Rajghat Education Centre, Krishnamurti Foundation India

Swami Chidanandaji has been a speaker, writer and a teacher of Vedanta Texts for nearly twenty years. After receiving an MTech from the IIT Madras in Electrical Engineering in 1982, he served Hindustan Computers Ltd (HCL) in hardware R&D for two years. He also taught at an Engineering College in Bangalore for three years. His spiritual quest drew him to Swami Chinmayanandaji and the study of the Vedanta. He served Chinmaya Mission for sixteen years during which he taught philosophy at Mumbai, Bangalore, and in California. He spoke at many academic, social and business centers in India and North America. His thought evolved through coming in contact with the works of several great thinkers, the most important among them being Ramana Maharshi and Jiddu Krishnamurti.

V Kovaichelvan, Senior Vice President, TVS Motors

V Kovaichelvan is Senior Vice President – HR & TQM of TVS Motor Company Limited and A member of CLIC's advisory board. He has over twenty five years of industrial experience in the areas of Production Engineering, New Product Introduction, Total Quality Management and Human Resource Development. Kovaichelvan has played a leading role in introducing many successful new products of his company. He played a key role in the implementation of TQM in the key business processes, resulting in a major organisational transformation. He is responsible for setting up the Human Resources function with contemporary practices and is currently focussing on introduction of practices for talent management and leadership development.

Paul Gleiberman, Senior Manager, Boeing Company

Paul Gleiberman has been with the Boeing Company for thirty years. He has been a leader in Organisation Development and Learning with eighteen years of experience at all levels in many functional areas, building on twelve years of business management experience. Dr Ravishankar Gundlapalli, CEO, The Turning Point Academy

Dr Ravishankar Gundlapalli is the Founder and Chief Mentor of Turning Point Academy, USA, an Academic and Career Coaching company for high school and college students. Before founding Turning Point, Ravi worked for over a decade as a Supply Chain Solutions Executive in Automotive, High Technology, Aerospace industries, managing large customers like Boeing and Hitachi GST. Ravi did his BTech from IIT Chennai and has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. Kirk O Hanson, Executive Director, Markkula Center for Applied Ethics

Kirk O Hanson is the Executive Director of the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University and University Professor of Organisations and Society. In 2001, he took early retirement from Stanford University where he taught at the Graduate School of Business for 23 years and is now an emeritus faculty member.

Dr Lee Hartwell, Nobel Laureate in Medicine, 2001

Dr Lee Hartwell earned a BS at the California Institute of Technology in 1961 and in 1964 earned a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the mentorship of Dr Boris Magasanik. He engaged in postdoctoral work at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies from 1964 through 1965 with Dr Renato Dulbecco. He joined the University of Washington faculty in 1968 and has been a genetics professor there since 1973. In 1996, he joined the faculty of Seattle's Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and in 1997 became its President and Director. Lee is the recipient of many national and international scientific awards, including the 2001 Nobel Prize in Medicine. Other honors include the Albert Lasker Basic Medical Research Award, the Gairdner Foundation International Award and the Alfred P Sloan Award in cancer research. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences. Lee lives in Seattle with his wife, Theresa Naujack

Professor Prasad Kaipa, Executive Director of the Centre for Leadership, Innovation, and Change (CLIC) has 18 years of research and consulting experience in the areas of change management, innovation, and leadership mindsets. Professor V Krishnamurthy, Former Deputy Director, BITS Pilani

Professor V Krishnamurthy is MA from Madras University and PhD, from Annamalai University, and is the ex-Director of KK Birla Academy, New Delhi.  Formerly he was the Deputy Director and Professor of Mathematics at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. For  more than two decades, he was one of the  top-ranking academic administrators who were responsible for the multifarious academic reforms for which BITS is now well known. His wide and varied interests in teaching and research include assignments at the University of Illinois, Urbana, USA and University of Delaware, Newark, USA.  His mathematical research contributions are in the areas of Functional Analysis, Topology, Combinatorics and Mathematics Education. He has been the President of the Indian Mathematical Society,  President of the Mathematics Section of the Indian Science Congress Association, and  Leader of the Indian team for the International Mathematical Olympiad, held in 1996 at Bombay.

William Miller, CEO, Global Creativity Corporation

For over 20 years, William Miller has been an internationally-recognised expert on values-centered corporate innovation – both as the Head of the Innovation Management program at SRI International (mid-1980’s) and as the President of the Global Creativity Corporation (since 1987). Since 2002, he has been named by Leadership Excellence, as among the top 30 leadership consultants worldwide. Two of William’s four books have been rated among the top 30 business books of the year in the USA by Executive Book Summaries. He has been a Guest Faculty member at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and has consulted and delivered keynotes in countries such as: India, China, Japan, Singapore, Czechoslovakia, England, France, Holland, Canada, and the USA.

Debra Miller, Director, Global Dharma Center

Debra Miller co-founded, along with her husband William, the Global Dharma Center, which focusses on spirituality and human values for leadership and work organisations. Prior to their moving to India in 2000, she founded Masterful Mission, a business coaching organisation working with executives, business owners and entrepreneurs to bring out their deepest values and most natural talents.

Dr HR Nagendra, Vice Chancellor, SVYASA University

Dr HR Nagendra is the President of VYASA, Bangalore, VYASA, International, VYERTI, Melbourne and Vice Chancellor of SVYASA Deemed University. He has authored and co-authored about 35 books on yoga, nearly 35 research papers in engineering and 60 in yoga. He has awards from the Ministry of Health, a Yoga Sri award from BKS Iyengar and a Senor Citizens award from New Delhi. He is consultant in Yoga to many Universities in Australia and USA and member of several bodies with the Indian Government.

Dr Venkataraman Nilakant, Associate Professor, University of Canterbury

Dr V Nilakant is currently Associate Professor, Department of Management, College of Business & Economics at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. He has also been the Associate Dean at the Department of Management at the University of Canterbury for 4 years. Nilakant's research interests lie in Human Resource Management, Management of Change, and Management Development and Training. He has received the Anbar Electronic Citation for Excellence in 1996 and an Award for Managing Organisational Change book, in the National Book Competiton of the Indian Society for Training and Development in 2000. Nilakant has also co-authored the book ‘Change Management: Altering Mindsets in a Global Context’ and ‘Managing Organisational Change’. He pursued an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkatta and then further went on to do a PhD from the Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, USA.

Sudhanshu Palsule, Visiting Professor, Helsinki School of Economics and the ISB

Sudhanshu Palsule works internationally as a consultant, coach and educator, helping individuals, teams and organisations to engage in transformation and renewal. His work is centred on Self-Leadership; Innovation; Performance Management; and Trans-cultural Leadership. The underlying thread in all these areas is developing the ability to ‘recognise’ the world differently and learning to break down self-created barriers to change and happiness. Sudhanshu also spends some of his time as an educator and works as a Visiting Professor at Business Schools in the UK, Poland and the USA. His writings include “Managing in Four Worlds”.

Dr Manoj Pawar, Adjunct Professor, University of Denver

Dr Manoj Pawar sees individuals, teams, organisations, and leaders already having within them the potential and the genius to achieve extraordinary results—all that is needed is the framework and strategies to ignite this potential. Igniting this inner genius for leaders and organisations is his passion and mission, and the tools of organisational learning and coaching are the core of his very practical approach. Anjali Raina, Executive Director, India Research Center, Harvard University

Anjali Raina is the Executive Director of the Harvard Business School India Research Center (IRC) in Mumbai.  In this leadership role she focusses on building and maintaining relationships with senior business leaders in the region to facilitate the expanding work of the Center in research, educational programs, and alumni endeavors. Prior to joining Harvard Business School, Anjali has spent the past 15 years at Citigroup (India), most recently as Country Training Director. In that role, she was responsible for training, development, and change management for the consumer bank as well as for Citigroup's associates and affiliate companies in India. She was also on the bank's management committee and provided training resources throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Her unit ran more than 1,500 programs in 26 locations for more than 67,000 participants yearly. Among her many accomplishments was the creation of a corporate university with seven interlinked functional and business-specific training academies.

Ajit Rangnekar, Deputy Dean, Indian School of Business

Ajit Rangnekar is the Deputy Dean of the Indian School of Business (ISB).
As the Deputy Dean, he drives the building of enduring relationships with Indian and multinational corporations, the alumni, and the students. He is also deeply involved in developing the School into a top global school in the Asian region. Prior to joining the ISB, Ajit was the Country Head, first for Price Waterhouse Consulting and then for PwC Consulting, in Hong Kong and the Philippines. He was head of the Telecom and Entertainment Industry Consulting practice for PwC in East Asia (China to Indonesia) and was also responsible for the management of the Training and Development activity of all PwC consultants in East Asia.

Neerja Raman, Senior Fellow, Stanford University

Neerja Raman is a recognised author and executive in management research. She is former Director, Strategic Planning and Imaging Systems Lab, Hewlett Packard Labs and currently Senior Fellow at Stanford University where she is developing business and leadership models for social entrepreneurs. She is on the advisory committee for Cyber-Infrastructure, National Science Foundation and board member of several non-profit organisations. She was inducted into the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame in 2005 for global leadership and was recognised with a Distinguished Citizen Award by Federation of Indo Americans in 2006. Neerja’s book, “The Practice and Philosophy of Decision Making” was featured in the category of ‘Books that Empower Women’ by WITI.

Professor S Ramnarayan, Clinical Professor of Organisational Behaviour, Indian School of Business

S Ramnarayan is a Clinical Professor of Organisational Behaviour at the Indian School of Business (ISB) and Member, Management Council of ISB’s Centre for Leadership, Innovation, and Change (CLIC). After his graduation in engineering and post-graduation in management, Ramnarayan earned his PhD in Organisational Behaviour from the Weatherhead School of Management at the Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr Srikumar Rao, Professor, Long Island University, London Business School

Dr Srikumar Rao received his PhD in Marketing from the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University. He has an M Phil in Marketing from the same school in addition to an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. His undergraduate training was in Physics at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. He conceived the pioneering course Creativity and Personal Mastery. This is the only business school course that has its own alumni association and it has been extensively covered in the media including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the London Times, the Independent, Time, the Financial Times, Fortune, the Guardian, Business Week and dozens of other publications.

Anil Sachdev, CEO, School of Inspired Leadership

Anil Sachdev is the Founder and CEO of Grow Talent Company Limited.  Grow Talent was created in July 2000 and became the leader in the strategic HR consulting industry by 2006.It enabled  large number of Global and local firms organisations to achieve breakthrough performance by realising the potential of their people and creating a talent advantage. In November 2006, when it had 100 staff and four offices in South Asia, it sold its consulting business to Right Management, a Manpower Inc company. In October 2008, Anil and the other co-founders of Grow Talent decided to enter the field of Education by creating SOIL- the School Of Inspired Leadership.

M Rammohan Rao, Dean, Indian School of Business

Professor M Rammohan Rao is the Dean of the Indian School of Business (ISB) since July 1, 2004. An illustrious academic, renowned worldwide for his research and teaching capabilities, Dean Rao taught as a tenured Professor of Operations Research at the Stern School of Business, New York University. He has also taught at the Graduate School of Management, University of Rochester as an Associate Professor and as a visiting faculty at the University of Tennessee. He has held various positions at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B), including those of Professor, Visiting Professor, Dean and Director. At the time of his appointment as the Dean of the ISB, he was Professor Emeritus, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. His current teaching and research interests are in the areas of Optimisation and Financial Derivatives.

Dr Subhash Sharma, Dean, Indian Business Academy

Dr  Subhash Sharma is currently Dean, Indian Business Academy, Bangalore and Greater Noida, India. He holds Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a PhD from University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He has made significant contributions to development of Indian Management thought and has authored creative and thought provoking books like Creation from Shunya (1993), Management in New Age: Western Windows Eastern Doors (1996), Quantum Rope: Science, Mysticism and Management (1999), Arrows of Time: From Black holes to Nirvana point (2001) and New Mantras in Corporate Corridors: From Ancient Roots to Global Routes (2007).

NS Srinivasan, Founder and Chief Mentor, Medha Mind Enhancement

NS Srinivasan, is the founder & Chief Mentor of Medha Mind Enhancement Company (P) Ltd., an organisation dedicated to consulting & research on “learning” in the new millennium. He has conducted mentoring programmes for leading Indian Corporates like Hindustan Lever Ltd, PepsiCo, the House of Tatas, Marico, etc. He has been working full-time for the last twenty years in the research and development of a neurobiological framework. He is the primary author of the book “Brain Re-engineering”, Sage (I) Publications (2003). He has been actively involved in “objectively” measuring the brain using biofeedback and Neurofeedback, for the last 8 years.

Cherian Varghese, Secretary to Government of India, Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction

Cherian Varghese is a member on the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction, a statutory body / civil court dealing with sick industries, in the rank of Secretary to Government of India. Formerly Chairman of Union Bank of India, Corporation Bank and South Indian Bank, he is also officiated as Chairman, Central Bank of India.
