The First International Conference on Igniting the Genius Within, organised by the Centre for Leadership, Innovation, and Change (CLIC) at the ISB, offers participants a unique opportunity to experience the confluence of three themes - Leadership, Innovation and Change - perused through three lenses:

  • Wisdom Perspectives: Based on ideas and world-views from the spiritual domain that have withstood the test of time and give us direction, passion and meaning
  • Scientific Principles: Based on latest research in the areas of
neuro sciences, cognitive sciences, and complexity models
  • Management Practices: Based on best practices from around the world

The Conference introduces the attendees to contemporary approaches for developing global Leadership, sparking Innovation and nurturing Change in their respective organisations, and focus on the following key areas:

  • Global leadership: Perspectives, principles and practices
  • Productivity, Creativity and Change: Ideas, lessons and models based on
  • neuroscience and cognitive science
  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship in India and other Emerging Economies:
  • Inclusive, affordable and connected approaches
  • Personal, Organisational Change, transformation stories and
  • principles

While there is extensive research on the increasing complexities in business, we’re still faced with many questions on how best we can lead, and help others lead. Here are some questions that frequently play on the minds of leaders:

  • How do we develop global leaders? What roles do culture, gender, age and experience play in being a global leader?
  • What do sciences, spirituality, and management practices say about Leadership, Innovation, and Change management?
  • What have we learned from Neurosciences and Cognitive sciences about the human brain, change and leadership in the past 20 years?
  • How do we integrate companies and cultures quickly and successfully after mergers and acquisitions?
  • What does affordable innovation mean and how do we operationalise it?
  • How do we effectively convert people’s creativity and intelligence into innovation and new knowledge creation?
  • How do we design and innovate our products and services in such a way that they can be customised quickly to meet the needs of global customers?
  • How do we change the mindsets of the older generation to make them champions and mentors of growth for younger workers?
  • How do we bring about change, and entrepreneurial mindset in traditional organisations - government or family-owned enterprises?

The objective of this Conference is to facilitate open discussion and exchange of perspectives, principles, and practices related to these questions.
