The Cambridge Judge Business School and Indian School of Business jointly organised the conference New Business Models for Sustainable and Affordable Innovation at ISB on April 1-2, 2010. The event boasted of an impressive list of speakers, namely Priya Prakash, Creative Director, Strategic Projects, Nokia; Mukul Saxena, Head Corporate R&D, Siemens India; Jaideep Prabhu, Jawaharlal Nehru Chair Professor, Cambridge University; Reeta Soni, Country Head, Responsible Banking, YES Bank; Geetu Verma, Executive Director, Innovation and Business Development, PepsiCo India; Ananth Krishnan, CTO, Tata Consultancy Services; Pradeep Kashyap, CEO, Mart Rural; Navi Rajdou, Executive Director, CIGB, University of Cambridge; and Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Managing Director, Biocon.

 
Innovation Educators’ Conference, ISB, April 29-30, 2011

“The times have changed. In our days, we had to worry about surviving.  Today, our children have a better life.  They can take risks.  India now is ready for the age of innovation,” Sam Pitroda, Chairman of National Innovation Council, said at the Innovation Educators conference, held at the ISB. The conference organised by BCIM at ISB brought together academicians, consultants, trainers, policymakers, and top executives. The invigorating panel discussions with industry leaders and parallel sessions such as “Innovation Training Methodologies in Companies”, “Skill Enhancement to Foster Innovation”, “Designing New Institutions and Programmes for Innovation”, etc., presented by over 30 speakers from the industry and academia, saw packed audiences and lively debates. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw (Biocon), Mohan Rao (CCMB), Johan Roos (CBS) and Professor Rishikesha Krishnan (IIM-B) wrapped up the  conference with the session, “Decade of Innovation: Taking the Agenda Forward.”  Presenting the closing address, Mazumdar-Shaw challenged, “It is time to act.  We know what to do. We need to have to the courage to do it.”
