Phanibala V- Manager
Dean's Office

Give us a brief on your background and career history.Phanibala V-Assistant Manager
I hold a Masters in Library and Information Science and a Degree in Arts. I worked at the Indo-American Centre for International Studies (IACIS) for a year before taking up a job at the ISB in January 2001. I worked at the library (Learning Resource Centre) till March 2006 before moving to the Dean’s Office. I was looking for a change after 5 years of service at the LRC. It was a great learning experience.

What attracted you to your current position?
My interest and inclination towards organisational related matters was the prime reason to move to the Dean’s Office at the ISB.

What do you like most about your job at the ISB?
Interaction with people from various walks of life is one thing which I like the most about my job. Having been associated with the School since the inception, I feel proud to showcase the ISB to the external world.

What is the biggest challenge that you face here?
To keep up the global standard in each and every task we take up is the biggest challenge I see. ISB being ranked amongst the Top 15 B-Schools by the Financial Times, serves as a testimony to our efforts.

What do you think about the work culture at the ISB?
The idea of the ISB is itself entrepreneurial, so is the spirit within it. ISB is open to new ideas and encourages people to take on independent responsibilities. It gives a perfect work-life balance.

If you could share one tip with a new employee, what would it be?
Be focussed and set a goal for yourself for the next few years. Never lose the passion to work for this great institution!
