Give us a brief on your background and career history. I have done my Masters in Library and Information Sciences, which is a professional course. My career in this profession started from Delhi where I worked with DELNET (Developing Library Network). I served that organisation for 9 months before joining the ISB as an Intern in the Learning Resource Centre (LRC).
What attracted you to your current position? ISB is known to have one of the best libraries amongst Asian B-schools. I felt it was great learning opportunity for me and also in this manner I get a lot of exposure. By working here I get to serve the end user with the right information, in the right time and at the right place.
What do you like most about your job at the ISB? Apart from the fact that I am working at one of the greatest libraries which has a fabulous collection of books on all subjects, I also get to learn many new things regarding my profession, each day. The work here is very challenging. Another thing which I like about my job is that it involves a lot of social networking as well.
What is the biggest challenge that you face here? The biggest challenge that I face here is to guide myself and my team members to reach the target goals. This challenge is always rewarded timely by my seniors and the end users, which makes the effort even more worthwhile.
What do you think about the work culture at the ISB? I believe that the ISB has a work culture which is simply superb, and it allows each and every employee to grow in a manner which is most beneficial to them.
If you could share one tip with a new employee, what would it be? Learn as much as possible from your colleagues, implement the same at your work and disseminate the same to your subordinates.
