Gurneeta Vasudeva Assistant Professor of Strategy
Professor Gurneeta Vasudeva, Assistant Professor of Strategy at ISB, recently won both the prestigious Richard N Farmer Dissertation Award, 2006 and the Barry M Richman Award 2006 for the best dissertation in International Management. Both awards are the highest honours for international business-related dissertations in the world, and Professor Vasudeva won them amidst intense competition for a record number of submissions this year.
Her earlier stints as Vice President Tata Energy and Resource Institute – North America, and as Energy Program Director with The Energy and Security Group, U S A, had led her to observe alliances from close quarters, and to take up their study for her doctoral thesis. Professor Vasudeva received the Richman Award recently at the 2006 Academy of Management Annual Meeting at Atlanta, Georgia for her dissertation entitled “How National Institutions Influence Firms’ Knowledge-Building Alliance Strategies: A Longitudinal Study of Fuel Cell Technology Development.” In June 2006, the Academy of International Business awarded her the Richard N. Farmer Dissertation Award in Beijing.
Her research interests lie in technology strategies, innovation, industry emergence, knowledge-acquisition, alliances, geographical co-location, national institutions and fuel cells. Professor Vasudeva has a PhD in Strategic Management and Public Policy from George Washington University and a Masters degree in Applied Operations Research from the University of Delhi.
She is also a recipient of the 2004 Young Scientists Fellowship from the U.S. National Science Foundation. |
