Ravi Bapna Associate Professor and Executive Director of the Centre for Information Technology and the Networked Economy
Professor Ravi Bapna’s paper "Auctioning Vertically Integrated Online Services: Computational Approaches for Real-time Allocation" co-authored with P Goes and A Gupta has been accepted for publication in the Journal of MIS, a top tier journal in the Information Systems area.
His paper "A Market Design for Grid Computing," co-authored with S Das, R Garfinkel, and J Stallaert, was published in the INFORMS Journal on Computing, a top tier journal in the Information Systems Area.
Prior to joining the ISB, Professor Bapna was an Associate Professor in the Operations and Information Management Department at the School of Business, University of Connecticut. He was awarded the prestigious Ackerman Scholar Award for outstanding research at the University of Connecticut. His research interests are in the areas of Online Auctions, E-market Design, Grid Computing, and the Economics of Information Systems.
In recognition of his inventive approach to teaching, Professor Bapna was given the Philip McDonald Curriculum Innovation Award by the College of Business Administration at Northeastern University. He has also had the distinction of being a Fellow of the Treibeck Electronic Commerce Institute at the University of Connecticut.
Professor Bapna completed his Bachelors in Computer Engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology and received his doctorate degree from the University of Connecticut, where his thesis was in the area of Information Systems.
