Professor Rishtee Batra is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Indian School of Business. Her research interests lie in the domain of aesthetics in marketing and visual perception. She currently teaches a course in Managerial Decision Making at the ISB that is cross-functional in both its theoretical ideas and its applications. The goal of this course is to encourage students to think critically about how decisions are made and then to learn how to avoid and correct common decision errors. Professor Batra will also teach Consumer Behaviour in the 2010-2011 academic session.
Professor Batra has been the recipient of a number of awards and scholarships including the University of Michigan Presidential Award for Academic Excellence, the Boston University School of Management Doctoral Fellowship, Wayne State University Doctoral Research Scholarship, Haddad Family Scholarship for Leadership, and the University of Michigan Regents’ Scholarship. She was also selected to be an AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium Fellow in 2008.
Professor Batra holds a PhD in Marketing from Boston University School of Management, an MBA in Marketing from Wayne State University, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor. She serves as the Vice President of Communications in AMA DocSig and is a member of the Association for Consumer Research, the American Marketing Association, and the Marketing Science Institute.
