N Viswanadham Clinical Professor and Executive Director of the Centre for Global Logistics and Manufacturing Strategies
Professor N Viswanadham, Executive Director of the Centre for Global Logistics and Manufacturing Strategies (GLAMS) at ISB, has been selected to receive the 2006 IBM Faculty Award. The Award recognises the quality of the recipient's research programme and its importance to the industry. It is a highly competitive worldwide award and carries a cash award of USD 20000 as a donation to the ISB.
Prior to joining the ISB, Professor Viswanadham held several prestigious positions. He was the Deputy Executive Director of The Logistics Institute-Asia Pacific and also Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering at the National University of Singapore. He was a GE Research Fellow, Tata Chemicals Chair Professor at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and was also a faculty member at the Indian Institute of Science till 1998. He was the Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Automation and the Division of Electrical Sciences at the Indian Institute of Science.
Apart from his widely followed books, he has published a number of high impact papers on quantitative performance analysis of manufacturing systems, product development, logistics and supply chain networks. His current research interests include Logistics, Global Manufacturing and Service Networks, and he is developing a methodology for the design of Six-Sigma, Integrated manufacturing and service chain networks.
Professor Viswanadham received his PhD from the Indian Institute of Science. His Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Engineering are also from the Indian Institute of Science. |
