About

The Club operates under the aegis of the Center for Analytical Finance (CAF) at ISB. Established in August 2004, CAF is dedicated to research in all areas of finance, including financial markets, instruments, institutions, and regulations. In addition to the ISB faculty, CAF researchers include distinguished scholars from Berkeley, Chicago, Cornell, Kellogg, NYU, UCLA, Wharton and other institutions of global standing. CAF has also established research partnerships with major international and Indian think tanks leading to collaborative research and joint conferences.

The force behind the center is Professor Raghuram Rajan, who served until recently, as the Economic Counselor and Director of Research, International Monetary Fund, the first finance researcher and the youngest person ever to hold this very influential research position. Among the numerous honors and distinctions, he has received is the inaugural Fischer Black Prize.

Focus Areas
With the objective of enhancing the Finance @ ISB brand, the finance club has three focus areas

Create learning opportunities outside the classroom: The club aims to provide its members learning opportunities outside the classroom in the field of finance. Members participate in competitions, speaker sessions and workshops which fosters an environment that encourages continuous learning and discovery of recent trends and developments in the field of finance.

Maintain industry connectivity: The Finance Club invites industry thought leaders and distinguished alumni for conferences, industry connected competitions, speaker sessions and workshops to provide a platform for networking and communication among the ISB alumni, the industry and current members of the Finance Club.

Provide outstanding career choices to members: The Finance Club seeks to connect with industry to provide outstanding career choices to its members. The Club also engages with alumni and other professionals to assist members in preparing for finance careers through career development programmes , skill building workshops.
