About
The Finance Club is ISB’s third largest club with 350 members who come with an average experience of 4-5 years. The club focusses on driving initiatives in the finance domain and intends to further the cause of finance at ISB. The team consists of 14 talented people with an average work-experience of 5 years who work on creating awareness on different domains in the financial services industry. The club not only educates the students but also reaches out to industry veterans and has periodic speaker sessions to expose students to the various practical aspects of finance. This year the Finance Club will conduct 4 in-house finance based competitions and will have a team of 5 people who will represent ISB in Exchequer 2010, a pan-India B-School competition on Finance.
The Finance Club is the only club at ISB which has two flagship events, namely, The Banking & Capital Markets Conclave (on September 11, 2010) and The Investment Banking and Private Equity Conclave (salted November 27, 2010). These conclaves are a medium through which the club tries to create synergies between ISB and the Finance Community within India. These conclaves are attended by the doyens of the Indian Financial Services Industry and they provide not only a great learning opportunity for students but also an opportunity to network with the who’s who of the finance domain.
Thus, it is through these initiatives that the Finance Club tries to create a connect between the students and the outside world thereby providing students with a holistic experience in finance and ensuring that they are better prepared to handle the nuances of the financial services industry in practical life.
