Strategies for entering world markets – General Management Club

Globalization efforts in the recent years have routinely raised two questions:

  • What are the competitive strategies to enter world markets and which competitive advantages can be sustained in the long term?

  • What are the challenges for Indian organizations to enter mature markets and what strategies can be adopted to achieve comparative advantage?
While multinationals have chosen both organic and acquisition routes, Indian Inc in general have gone via merger, acquisition and diversification rote. Our panel with its plenary of eminent business leaders from diverse industry segments shall talk on the pro-cons of each approach and also elaborate on the strategies adopted by them and what are the learning’s accrued. Also in focus is the role of policymakers in the maturing of the Indian corporation. Have our policymakers facilitated or hindered the march ahead?
