The week long euphoria of the Fifth Anniversary Celebrations at the ISB concluded with a get-together on December 8, 2006. The mood was one of sweet nostalgia after the power packed week that came to an end all too soon.

The evening commenced with the felicitation of staff members who had completed 5 years in service at the ISB. Winners of various competitions, held during the week long festivities, were announced, and commended for their wholehearted participation.

The highlight of the evening was a dual performance by Amit Heri and Madhu Natraj. The amalgamation of world music with contemporary dance and martial arts was a rare sensory treat for the audience.

Natrajan is trained in contemporary dance from the Jose Limon Centre, New York, and her forte is folk and martial dance forms. She has represented the country at many national and international dance festivals. She heads the Natya Stem Dance Company, one of India’s premium dance units.

Heri is a guitarist and composer, one of the few Indian musicians who have performed at international music festivals like the Jazz Festivals of Berlin, London, Monteux, Paris, Womad Festival, World Social Forum, etc. Heri dabbles in Jazz and has also scored music for feature films and dance theatre productions. The duo has performed extensively around India and in 28 countries all over the globe.

The audience at the ISB appreciated this distinctive form of art which exhibited the fine nuances of music, which was both mellow and fiery, and dance which combined force with grace.

The evening ended with the promise of another great year ahead for all ISBians.
