Markotine: The Marketing Club Newsletter

Markotine is the Marketing Club’s fortnightly newsletter. Inspired by nicotine and its ability to shoot straight up to the brain, Markotine is the Club’s fortnightly dose of all things marketing. It brings forth insights from ISB alums in the marketing sphere, highlights a particular industry and company, along with featuring the ‘Best-Of’ ads, books, news and feature articles from the previous fortnight to keep everyone up-to-date with the latest in marketing. This initiative aims to sharpen the minds of the club members and cultivates a perspective on practical marketing issues.
Sales Visits to the Market
The Marketing Club also organises market visits along with representatives from leading companies for its members to gain first hand exposure to sales operations in the Indian context. Term 3 provided an opportunity to some students to shadow a Cadbury sales representative in Mumbai. The visit started with a trip to the distributor where they learnt the basics of how the business is run and what challenges are faced. This was followed by time spent in the wholesale and retail markets for a real flavor of sales and distribution planning.
