Some aspects of the ISB that you think are unique/ exceptional The diversity of the student community, quality of the teaching staff and the campus environment are unmatched. There is no educational institution in India that provides the same quality of challenging and world class professional education that the ISB achieves. At the ISB, I have started my day by attending lectures by professors from the best business schools in the world then taken part in the water polo competition in the afternoon before attending a talk by a world renowned economist in the evening. This summarizes the ISB experience for me.
Your comments on the learning model at the ISB The emphasis on case based learning; real life corporate projects and the level of interaction within the classroom provide the perfect balance to texts and exams.
How do you think the ISB will contribute to your career growth as a media professional? The media sector is witnessing rapid growth and consolidation. While most organisations are adequately staffed with domain experts, the need of the hour is a team of managers who can handle the business side of media. I feel the ISB curriculum is the perfect value add for a media professional looking to move into a managerial role. The ISB, with its emphasis on students with prior experience ensures a unique learning environment.
As a member of the Media Club, what are some of the opportunities you are looking forward to? As the President of the Media Club at the ISB, I hope to attract leaders from the industry to come and interact with the student community here at the ISB. I also feel the need for the student community to realise the potential in this sector.
One of the faculty/ guests speakers at the ISB who really inspired you Jeffery Sachs, Director Earth Institute, Columbia University the Harvard trained economist put in perspective the economic growth achieved by India. His emphasis on all inclusive and environmentally sustainable progress opened our eyes to some indicators of success as important as the growth in GDP.
