Class of 2007 Profile

Reasons for selecting ISB
I was working in the Media industry. I wanted to equip myself with tools and techniques that would help me in my job sphere. I also wanted to gain the skills in India and in the least time possible and so ISB was the institution that offered me all the three requisites.

Did ISB meet your expectations?
I wanted to learn the latest in the management sphere from the best-in-class people and in the best environment. I got whatever I expected and in fact much more than that.

On ISB’s learning model and Faculty
I wish I had words to describe the experience. The learning model is at par with the best in the world, this has been told to us by visiting faculty, exchange students and also by our own friends who are studying in other B schools. I feel there is no match to our faculty. It was an absolute pleasure to sit in the classes of most professors. Their experience, their style of conversing, and the examples they gave to support a case- everything was exceptional.

On the infrastructure and other resources at ISB

ISB’s infrastructure is the icing on the cake and the Learning Resource Centre(LRC) is the cherry on that cake. LRC has possibly every resource that one can ask for ranging from case studies to online data bases, etc. Every time I look at the campus I feel that I would miss it when I go to any other place. It’s so clean, so huge, so spread out, but truly a home away from home. The Recreation Centre is again an amazing place. We celebrate all our birthdays there, play sports and of course the world class gym helps us lose those extra kilos.

On learning experiences outside the classroom and as a Club President
ISB provides you with various opportunities for learning. You learn not only from the course, but also during informal interactions with the professors, through guest lectures, by conversing with the alums and most importantly through your peer group. This I feel is once in a lifetime opportunity and I am glad I got it.

As a club president one is involved in organising various events and thus gets in touch with the administration. Ideally it should be tough work but with the kind of support that one gets from everyone, it never makes the job feel exhausting. Right from designing the webpage to getting the banners, etc, everything is so streamlined that one never has to waste time on non-productive activities. After the event one feels that organising events on campus is not that difficult after all and then you end up getting motivated for the next big event and so on.
