Tell us something about your educational background. I have a Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from National University of Singapore. I am also working towards CFA certification.
How are you going to leverage your education at the ISB? As an engineer who stumbled into finance, my knowledge of business management was limited to a very niche sector. The world class education at ISB has exposed me to a diverse range of business problems, enabling me to gain a well-rounded understanding of business management. I am confident that my ISB education will catapult my finance career in a higher growth trajectory.
What are your impressions/expectations from your peer group? My interactions with my peer group have been extremely gratifying. Drawn from diverse backgrounds and rich experiences, the batch consists of driven, resourceful and enterprising people. Collaborating with them on the academic work and other projects has been an enriching experience.
How challenging did find the curriculum of the Post Graduate Programme? It is an intense programme and not for the weak in heart. While the programme turned out to be more intensive, I believe that my comfort with numbers and knowledge of finance proved valuable. We have some of the best faculty in the world and attending each lecture feels like an absolute privilege. The curriculum has been designed by some of the best minds, is revised every year. The effort shows both in quality and relevance.
Describe in brief some of your significant experiences at the ISB so far. The most significant aspect of my ISB experience thus far has been peer learning. In every lecture, I gain something from the knowledge, experiences and insights of my classmates. However, this kind of learning is not limited to just classroom or academic stuff from that matter. My peers introduced me to poker and squash – both of which I enjoy tremendously. So much so that my goal is to leave ISB not as a capable business leader alone, but as a capable business leader who is also a skilled poker and squash player!
