ISB's Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP)

ISB's Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) now at Mohali

Now in its tenth year, the ISB’s flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) will be delivered in two locations. We will have a total intake of 770 students, spread across Hyderabad (560) and Mohali (210). Admissions are now open for the Class of 2013 (i.e. programme commencing April 2012).

Following ISB’s unique portfolio faculty model, top visiting and resident faculty will impart cutting-edge management insights and practices at both locations. Here is an overview of how the two campuses will operate as a unified entity, with the same commitment to world-class programme design and delivery, and by effecting a seamless integration through inter-campus exchanges and virtual connectivity.

Course Structure

The PGP will run in parallel at the two campuses following the academic calendar of April - March. The year will comprise of 8 terms of 6 weeks each, with the first 4 being the “core” terms, and the remaining 4 being the “electives”. The entire programme structure for the class of 2013 across Hyderabad and Mohali campuses can be viewed here.

Course offerings

The entire curriculum and the teaching pedagogy will be the same. The first four terms (core terms) will be the same on both the campuses.

The elective course offerings will be as follows:

  • Hyderabad: Marketing, Finance and Strategy & Leadership, Operations, Information Technology and Entrepreneurship.
  • Mohali:  Marketing, Finance and Strategy & Leadership, Healthcare, Manufacturing and Entrepreneurship

Irrespective of the campus that a student gets admitted to, he/she will have an option to major in the subjects of his/her choice. For e.g., a student initially selected in the Hyderabad campus and looking to major in Marketing and Healthcare can move to Mohali during the elective terms to pursue the same.

Augmented Learning
Classroom learning will be augmented through experiential learning projects, leadership development modules, industry interactions and a host of other initiatives at both locations.

Inter-Campus Exchange
In order to encourage cross-learning and increase networking across the campuses, there would be an inter-campus exchange programme during Terms 3 and 4. Through a transparent process, an equal number of students from each campus will have the opportunity to swap their starting locations and spend a maximum of two core terms in the other campus.

Single Admission Process
There will be a single Admissions process to both the Hyderabad and the Mohali campus. Applicants would be required to indicate their preference of campus in the online application. The Admissions process does not take the campus preference into consideration while evaluating the application and therefore will have no impact on the selection process. The campus allotment decision will be taken up after we prepare the final list admits. While we will try and accommodate your campus preference to the extent possible, the ISB reserves the right of allotment of the campus, to maintain the diversity of the class profile and subject to the availability of the seats.

Mohali campus Infrastructure

Spread across 70 acres, the ISB campus at Mohali will be equipped with state-of-the-art learning facilities – lecture theatres, a 500-seater auditorium, student and faculty housing, and a host of recreational facilities. The master plan of the campus and the architectural design of the individual buildings combine the principles of traditional Indian design with contemporary campus standards, reflecting the ISB’s character of being uniquely Indian and, at the same time, a global institution. The buildings adhere to the latest international building code and educational facility operating standards. The campus is designed to meet LEED Gold sustainability criteria, with energy-efficient mechanical and electrical fixtures, rain water harvesting, maximized day lighting and passive environmental controls. The campus has been designed by the leading international architects, Perkins Eastman, New York, in partnership with RSP, Bangalore, and is being project managed by Jones Lang Lasalle Meghraj.

Governance Philosophy

The School will have a unified governance structure, with the school’s Board as the statutory body overseeing and supporting both the campuses. The ISB will maintain consistency, a common set of standards and processes, and above all, an unwavering culture of excellence across both campuses.
