Recharging Careers The ISB students received several senior management positions such as COO, VP-International Marketing, Head-Marketing, International Country Manager Designates, and others, from leading domestic and international companies. This is a clear indication that their work experience, enhanced by an intensive one-year grooming at the ISB, is an undeniable advantage.
Our graduates have leveraged the ISB experience to advance their career goals: • Engineers growing beyond an engineering domain into management functions • Consultants progressing from analyst roles into team leaders and managers • Civil servants bringing a business mindset to government programmes • Entrepreneurs implementing cutting-edge management practices into their businesses
Dramatic Career Shifts Some students made dramatic career shifts. For instance, the owner of a detective agency was offered the position of VP-International Marketing, in a leading Healthcare organisation, a marine engineer was offered a senior position in a Real Estate consulting firm, etc. The ISB has not only fulfilled the dreams of aspirants who have desired to make it big in the corporate world, but have also allowed many to realise their true calling. Our graduates have used their ISB experience to switch tracks into corporate roles:
• Defence officers looking for a transition into civilian life • Merchant navy officers seeking the challenge of the corporate world • Doctors wanting to leverage their medical expertise in a business environment • A deep sea diver who found a niche management role in oil exploration • Architects now engaged in roles as diverse as marketing, operations and consulting
Exploring New Avenues The ISB students also chose to make their mark in new and emerging sectors such as real estate consulting, the media industry and others. They accepted offers from media companies like ABP, GBN and RPG, often as a trade-off between a higher paying job and the one on offer. Such instances are an evidence of the ISB students’ confidence in seeking new challenges. 30 of them rejected high CTC packages and lucrative international offers, favouring postings that promised challenging job profiles.
Women Set Records When it came to record placements, women at the ISB definitely made themselves heard. They were offered leadership positions in international organisations. Of the four students who crossed the USD 200,000 mark, two were women, and one of them was offered a record USD 223,400.
