Reasons for selecting ISB
I chose to apply and then to attend ISB primarily because of the 1-year programme. My undergraduate studies were in Canada, and I had the option of going abroad to do my MBA. However, the attraction of a world class MBA right here in India was hard to beat!

On ISB’s learning model
In the time that I’ve been here, I have been awed by the quality of the faculty and the infrastructure. The learning model is also unique, a distinct blend of the case method and classroom instruction. In addition, the most important thing about the learning model for me has been the opportunity to closely work with peers. We are assigned study groups at ISB, and my group consists of an extremely diverse set of people. I learn a tremendous amount from them every time we have to do an assignment.

On the faculty
The international faculty at ISB is truly world class. Aside from the formal classroom interaction with our teachers, we also have the opportunity to interact with them informally on campus. I believe that my managerial skills are being tremendously enhanced by being taught by the best business minds in the world.

On leadership skills acquired at ISB
Most importantly, I have learned to work in a team. In addition, as part of the Leadership Development Programme at ISB, I have attended workshops on influencing skills, presentation skills and problem solving. Because of the rigorous nature of the curriculum, my communication skills have been enhanced, and I feel that I am a more rounded person today than I was before coming to ISB. As a result, I believe I’m a better leader.

How this programme will benefit your career
I believe that the skills I acquire at ISB will prepare me for the ‘real’ world. My previous work experience has been in both administrative and managerial roles. I understand now that in order to be a more effective manager, the classroom experience along with peer learning is absolutely vital.
