Student Profiles

Student A has a BTech in Instrumentation & Control Engineering from NIT Trichy. Prior to ISB, he had 4 years and 5 months of experience in the Energy and Infrastructure Industry.  At Punj Lloyd Ltd as a Senior Engineer, he led a team on techno-commercial bidding for oil and gas, energy and power projects. He was also involved in vendor management activities including vendor-selection, price-negotiation, scheduling etc, and client interfacing for resolution of delivery bottlenecks. Prior to this, he was an associate design engineer at Fluor Daniel India Pvt Ltd, where he coordinated with 7 cross-functional business groups and managed instrumentation selection and design for a USD 2.3 billion oil and gas project

Student B has an MTech in Geotechnical Engineering from IIT Madras and a BE in Civil Engineering from CBIT Osmania University. Prior to ISB, she had 3 years 6 months of experience in the Construction Industry. At Larsen & Toubro ECC as an Assistant Engineering Manager, she led an 8-member design team for housing, hospitals, airports and factory projects worth over USD 1 million. She coordinated and integrated Quality Management System in work procedures to retain quality certification for 4 consecutive years. She was involved in budgeting the tender bids for major international projects and received the Outstanding Performer Award for 2 consecutive years. At Somehsa Marine Geosciences Pvt Ltd, she was a design engineer who automated the design of foundations for jack-up platforms for easier execution at offshore sites

Student C has a BE (Hons) in Civil Engineering from V J Technical Institute, University of Mumbai. Prior to ISB, she had 5 years 6 months of experience in the Construction Industry. At Raheja Universal Pvt Ltd, she was a manager for the Corporate Strategy group and developed a proposal to launch new services for a high-end segment. She analysed data to mitigate risks in new business/market entry. She also inducted 22 departments on business-process systems, designed and rolled out more than 20 processes. She also introduced systems audit processes during her time there. Prior to this, she worked at Shapoorji Pallonji & Co Ltd as a senior engineer for business development. There, she managed 17 key client-accounts across diverse sectors. She generated new leads and contributed in annual business generation worth over INR 2500 million. She also customised client proposals and explored strategic alliances and new business tie-ups.

Student D has an MS in Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA and a BTech in Chemical Engineering from the Alagappa College of Technology, Anna University. Prior to ISB, he has had 8 years and 9 months of experience in the Power Industry. At General Electric as a sales application engineer, he developed economic and financial models to understand and influence economic evaluation for power-plant investment. He participated in strategic and high-value transactions involving IPPs in India and helped achieve USD 100 million in sales. He was also a lead engineer in the Energy division of GE, where he led the development and commercial launch of advanced ‘Ecomagination’ Gas Turbine in Holland (a USD 76 million programme). At Power Systems Mfg (a subsidiary of Alstom Power), he worked as an aerothermal design engineer, where he led a USD 25 million power plant performance improvement programme of a IPP – Calpine Corporation.

Student E has a BArch (Hons) from IIT Kharagpur. Prior to joining ISB, he had 3 years 9 months of experience in the Real Estate Industry. At Jones Lang Lasalle Property Consultants (India) Pvt Ltd, he was a manager for Business Analysis. He was responsible for analysing business performances and streamlining their operations, and he developed an entry strategy for Tier III cities of East-India. He generated financial models to assess feasibility of Real Estate assets and implemented innovative tools to streamline operations of Pan-India Retail and East-India overall Real Estate businesses. He also led a project for CFCI and associated in the completion of other projects involving clients like Microsoft and Bank of America.
