Dumb Charades

The preliminary round was extremely entertaining, with the teams having to guess one movie and one personality each. The challenge lay in expressing yourself without splitting the words and without the use of the “sounds like” strategy. Madhu Kurian (the timekeeper) and Amrita Bannerjee (the scorekeeper) were extremely efficient at tracking down the times to the last second. Six teams made it to the finals under the supervision of Aashish Ramdas who made sure that none of the teams engaged in foul play.

With a large audience for the finals consisting of the teams that didn’t qualify and sundry curious onlookers, the box of 25 Cadburys as prizes for the audience didn’t last very long! The teams were extremely talented and exhibited a fine display of acting, drawing and guessing skills.

Rounds for the finals:

b. Normal Dumb Charades (companies and taglines)
c. Audio Dumb Charades (guess the song and mime the artist)

e. Dumb-Dumb Charades (tourism and places)

Dumb Charades (Dumb C) was the first event held by the Theatre Club at the ISB. It was held in the very second week of Term 1 and drew a crowd of about 25 teams (teams of three) from all sections. The event essentially follows the standard rules - one member of the team mimes out the given word/phrase to the other two team members, whose job is to guess what is being acted out.
