Raghuram Rajan is the Economic Counsellor and Director of the IMF's Research Department, and the Joseph L Gidwitz Distinguished Service Professor of Finance, Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago. He has held his position at the IMF since 2003. His visiting positions include: Fischer Black Visiting Professor, MIT, 2000-01. Visiting Professor, Northwestern University, 1996-97. Bertil Daniellson Visiting Professor of Banking and Finance, Stockholm School of Economics, 1996-97.
Professor Rajan's research interests are in the areas of Corporate finance, theory of organisations, financial intermediation and regulation. His articles have been published in several major journals like the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Applied Corporate Finance, Journal of Political Economy.
