About PACIS ‘09

The Centre for IT and the Networked Economy (CITNE) at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad will host the Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems 2009. Backed by a strong conference committee, the emergence of India as a global powerhouse in IT and IT enabled services, the city of Hyderabad as a key ICT hub and the Indian School of Business’ strong commitment to ICT research as the engine of growth in this part of the world, CITNE@ISB was unanimously chosen as the venue for PACIS 2009.

Conference Theme – "IT Services in a Global Environment"

As the information technology (IT) function evolves into an increasingly service-oriented and global model, this conference will explore the supply and demand of IT services within and across organization and country boundaries. As organizations on the buy side are increasingly sourcing IT services in offshore locations, vendors on the sell side are also reaching far outside their domestic markets. This leads to new and interesting governance, coordination, strategic alignment and vendor management issues. These, along with other important issues germane to IT adoption and impact in emerging markets, will be discussed in a setting at the heart of the Indian IT and IT enabled services industry. As with all ISB conferences, we will invite industry leaders at the CXO level to engage with the academic community.
