Governance at BCIM

The concept of shared governance has undergirded most of BCIM’s decisions on key issues such as the centre’s policies, research strategy, resource allocation and developing human capital. The steering committee was created to enable more transparent and efficient decision making; given the growing size of BCIM, the need for better coordination of management functions, and the increasing prevalence of management issues in research centres. The steering committee at BCIM, consisting of key stakeholders from Biocon and ISB in consonance with the shared governance model, provides corporate oversight and efficiency. The composition of the committee is as follows:

Biocon

2. Dr. Sanjay Kallapur – Senior Associate Dean, Faculty Development
