ISB-Ivey Global Case Competition

The ISB-Ivey Global Case Competition is an annual event hosted by the Centre in partnership with the Richard Ivey School of Business (Ivey), University of Western Ontario, Canada.

The ISB-Ivey Case Competition was launched in 2010 at the national level with the aim of promoting the development of high quality, internationally benchmarked, India-specific business cases. At present, the competitionhas been opened to international academics, faculty, and doctoral students. The ISB-Ivey Global Case Competition is supported by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and the Association of Indian management Schools (AIMS).

The top cases from the case competition are exclusively mentored and developed by the ISB-Ivey team of mentors, and published as ISB-Ivey cases. These cases are marketed to a global audience of business schools through Ivey and distributed through Ivey and Harvard Publishing (Harvard University, USA).

What participants of the case competition had to say…

"My greatest learning from the competition was about the level of detail and precision to which one needs to go, with every sentence and word, before it reaches the desired shape!"
- Asha Bhandarker, Professor, MDI, Gurgaon

"Post the competition, further feedback and the editing tips to improve the case material was thoroughly professional and extremely helpful. I learnt one thing – ‘keep the core very focused and spin the narrative without much frills’."

- S R Asokan, Associate Professor, Institute of Rural Management, Anand

"The competition gave me an opportunity to be associated with the best in the industry. And the post-event mentoring is a learning process that continues."

-Sonia Mehrotra, Assistant Professor, MOP Vaishnav College for Women

"The bar of competition went up as ISB did a good job of creating awareness about the competition among management teachers. Feedback about the case from two reviewers led to significant improvement in my case."

- Dr.Anup Kumar Singh, Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management

"I think the ISB Case Competition is an excellent initiative and it has encouraged many teachers in Indian B-Schools to write cases in Indian context. We look forward to reading and teaching more of ISB-Ivey cases as the Centre puts in so much effort to ensure that the cases make an excellent teaching material."

- Gita Bajaj, Associate Professor, MDI, Gurgaon

"I had the benefit of some very incisive comments as well as useful suggestions from my judge. They helped me improve not only the case I submitted but has also been of lasting value for the cases I intend to write in future. Overall it was a very professional approach."

- K Balakrishnan, Dean Admissions & Knowledge Management, Asian School of Business
