  • Case Writing and Teaching Workshop
    November 24-27 2010, MDI Gurgaon

    A four day Case Writing and Case Teaching Workshop was organized by the Centre during November 24 -27, 2010, in partnership with MDI Gurgaon. The intent was to train high-potential Indian faculty and case writers in the case writing and case teaching process, and to develop a case writing and case teaching culture inside Indian management schools.

    The workshop was conducted by Professors Ariff Kachra and Nicole Haggerty from Richard Ivey School of Business (Ivey), The University of Western Ontario. The workshop included modules like ‘mapping your case teaching, writing and learning experiences’, ‘defining the key skills associated with case writing and case teaching’, ‘preparing for your first interview with the case lead ‘etc. The mentors also delved into the different facets of case teaching and held sessions on how to deconstruct best practices related to case teaching, how to prepare to teach a case, etc.  more

2009

  • Case Writing and Case Teaching Workshop
    October 1-4, 2009

    A four-day case writing and case teaching Workshop was organised by the Centre in association with SJMSOM-IIT Bombay and Prin. L N Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research. Hosted at Mumbai, and mentored by  Rick Robertson and Ariff Kachra, both from Ivey, this intensive four-day workshop covered the fundamentals of both case writing and case teaching. Each participant actually wrote a short field-based case, working through all steps of the case writing process.


  • Case Writers Advanced Training Workshop
    June 26-July 1, 2009

    This workshop was conducted by Ariff Kachra, Assistant Professor of Strategy, Ivey. The primary goal of this workshop was to train ten high-potential individuals in the case writing process. As a follow up to this workshop, Professor Kachra is working closely with participants, to successfully publish high-profile cases with Ivey Publishing. In the process, the ISB will have built a high-quality pool of skilled case writers who can be positioned to support ISB faculty interested in publishing cases. 


  • The India Case Workshop
    January 30-February 1, 2009

    The Centre hosted a three-day case writing workshop, together with Ivey. Facilitators comprised Charles Dhanaraj, Kelley School of Management and Paul Beamish, Ivey. There were 40 participants - faculty, academic associates, and research scholars from B-schools all over India. This workshop saw the initiation of three cases on microfinance, marketing communications in a crisis, and reverse logistics.
