General Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) was born on 10 May 1951. An alumnus of Birla Public School, Pilani and National Defence Academy, he served as the 26th Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army.

Military career
General Singh was commissioned into the 2nd Battalion of The Rajput Regiment (Kali Chindi) on 14 June 1970. He is a graduate of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington with a competitive vacancy. He is also a graduate of US Army Rangers Course at Fort Benning, USA and US Army War College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania

General Singh was awarded Yudh Seva Medal for operations as part of IPKF in Sri Lanka, the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) for distinguished service while commanding a counter-insurgency force in 2005 and Param Vishisht Seva Medal in recognition of his exceptional and distinguished services in the Eastern Theatre in 2009.

He became Chief of Army Staff on 31 March 2010 and retired from the position on 31 May 2012.

On 11 March 2011, Singh was inducted into the United States Army War College (Class of 2001 graduate) International Fellows Hall of Fame. He is the 33rd International Fellow and the first Indian Armed Forces officer to be inducted.

Political career
General Singh joined the Bhartiya Janata Party on 1 March 2014 and successfully contested Lok Sabha election from Ghaziabad constituency (2.4 million plus electorate).

Presently, he is Minister of State for External Affairs. As Minister of State for External Affairs, General Singh has represented India at several bilateral and multilateral events as well as Special Assignments in Asia, Africa, Latin America & the Caribbean region and Europe.

"Courage and Conviction”, his highly acclaimed autobiography, has been widely read in India.

General Singh is married to Mrs. Bharti Singh and they have two daughters.

The inclination towards public life was always there for KTR as he grew watching his father from close quarters .However, KTR decided that politics would be his life’s calling as he was strongly influenced by a quotation from his University days.KTR made his political debut by winning from Sircilla Assembly Constituency in 2009. He was relected from the same constituency in 2014, in the first elections to Telangana Assembly, and assumed the charge of Cabinet Minister. KTR now holds the portfolios of IT, Industries & Commerce, MA&UD and NRI Affairs.In the brief span of three years, KTR has already left an indelible imprint on the growth path that the State of Telangana has embarked on. It’s only the beginning.


Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR, is a Cabinet Minister in the Government of Telangana, the 29th State of India. He is the Member of the Legislative Assembly from Sircilla Constituency since 2009.

Born in Siddipet on 24 July, 1976, KTR is the son of K Chandrashekar Rao, the first Chief Minister of Telangana. He grew up in a politically active family and completed his schooling from St. George’s Grammar School, Hyderabad before going to Nizam College, Hyderabad. He studied M.Sc. in Biotechnology from University of Pune and also holds an MBA degree in Marketing and E-Commerce from City University of New York, NY.

After finishing his MBA, KTR worked in USA between 2001-06. But his interest in the prevailing socio-economic condition in the region brought him back to where his heart belongs – politics. He joined Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and worked under the leadership of his father to bring Statehood to the region of Telangana. During this period, he travelled the length and breadth of the State and interacted with people to understand their problems and aspirations, which later helped in shaping his political career. KTR made his political entry in 2009 Assembly elections. He assumed the charge of a cabinet minister in the first Government of Telangana in June 2014.

Initiatives for the State of Telangana

KTR has embarked upon an aggressive plan to develop the IT and high-tech industry in the new State after assuming office. His aim was to double the IT exports from Telangana in the next five years. He has already taken-up several initiatives in this regard that includes creating proactive and business-friendly industrial, IT and electronic policies; facilitating electronic manufacturing ecosystem in the state; promoting entrepreneurship through creation of T Hub – India’s largest incubator for startups; generating skilled workers through Telangana Academy of Skill and Knowledge (TASK) and offering quality education and training to identified groups through State-run Satellite Communications and IT set-up i.e. Society for Telangana Network (SoFTNET).

The State has launched historic Water Grid project to provide tap water to about 8 million homes; this project piggybacks optic fiber in the same trench to create the most extensive broadband network in India. Taking a step ahead to deliver government services to the rural citizens over internet, he has initiated the E-Panchayat project.KTR received Audi-Ritz Inspirational Icon of the Year Award (Politics) for 2015 and Skoch Challenger Award in Start-up India category for Telangana’s path-breaking initiative T-Hub.

He has specialised in the fields of migration and community cohesion and worked as a senior policy advisor in both areas. He is an experienced negotiator and led UK teams seeking both bilateral and multilateral agreements in a variety of contexts.

In both Ghana (2008) and Nigeria (2015) he is proud to have been at the forefront of UK election observation in two of the closest contests Sub Saharan Africa has seen. In Nigeria, he also led on anti-corruption successfully lobbying for Nigeria to join the Open Government Partnership, oversaw activity around the prosperity agenda and passionately championed Chevening.

Mohan Reddy has served as Chairman of NASSCOM (National Association of Software & Service Companies) for 2015-2016, and has been a member of the Executive Council since 2003. At NASSCOM, Mohan Reddy laid the foundation of NASSCOM’s engineering services council (ER&D Forum) through a range of initiatives, including instituting industry research on ER&D services. Mohan Reddy has also served as the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Southern Region (2008-2009). Mohan Reddy is a Founding Director of T-Hub, the largest incubation centre in India for start-ups by Government of Telangana. Mohan Reddy has immense passion towards promoting education in India. Towards this, Mohan Reddy serves as Member on the Board of NIIT University, and Member of Executive Council of JNTU, Kakinada. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers CIE division conferred the distinguished Leadership Award on Mohan Reddy in 2011. Mohan Reddy was conferred the Distinguished Alumnus Award by Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Deepa Mani is an Associate Professor in the Information Systems group and Research Fellow at the Indian School of Business. She is the faculty coordinator for the IBM Research Collaboratory in service science at ISB. Professor Mani’s research interests are at the intersection of technology, organisation, and society. She is interested in studying the impact of technology on organisation of economic activity, including firm boundary decisions, and the impact of such organisation on firm value and economic productivity. Jayesh Ranjan is a member of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of the 1992 batch and working in the state of Telangana. He holds a Masters Degree in Psychology from Delhi University, a degree in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and a Masters in Public Management from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. He has also done short courses in the University of Birmingham (on Environmental Policy Analysis), JICA training Institute, Tokyo (on lake remediation), London School of Economics (on Globalization and Leadership), Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University (in Public Policy), and Swedish Institute, Stockholm (on Sustainability and CSR). He is the All-India topper of his IAS batch of 1992. He was awarded World Bank’s Social Capital Visiting Scholarship in 2002 and the British Government’s Gurukul Chevening Scholarship in 2005. He has done international consultancy assignments for the World Bank, UN-ESCAP, Sedatu project of Mexico, and for international NGOs working for Youth Issues like YES, Inc of the USA and NMC from Italy. He is a part of the National Pool of Trainers in Leadership constituted by the Government of India, and is involved in training and mentoring newly recruited Civil Servants.

Jayesh Ranjan is the Principal Secretary of the Industries & Commerce (I&C) and Information Technology (IT) Departments of the Telangana government. His assignment involves developing policy frameworks, attracting new investments, identifying opportunities of utilizing IT in various government processes, and promoting digital empowerment of the citizens. His last few assignments have been in the Industrial Promotion sector as Commissioner and MD of the Industries Department, Secretary in the Tourism Promotion Department, and Vice-Chairman of the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA), all for 2-3 years each, and various rural assignments in different parts of the state for over 12 years, working in diverse sectors like Tribal Development, Natural Resources Management, Poverty Alleviation and other related Social Development Sectors.

Krishna Kishore, an IRS officer of the 1990 batch is the Chief Executive Officer of the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB). The 51-year-old officer is a chartered accountant by training and has had stints with the income-tax department in Guntur and Vijayawada. Till recently Secretary to the Civil Aviation Minister, Ashok Gajapathi Raju, he was handpicked by the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to head the AP.

Under his stewardship, APEDB has registered remarkable achievements by contributing towards Andhra Pradesh’s successes – including signing more than 65 MoUs amounting to approximately INR 3.6 lakh crore of investments into the state.

APEDB has also forged partnerships with 12 countries, inking international agreements through 24 outbound delegations and 20 inbound delegations. Given this background, APEDB has become an integral part of Andhra Pradesh’s journey towards creating a happy, inclusive, and sustainable society.

Beginning her assignment in August 2016, Consul General Jennifer Daubeny leads the charge in promoting relations between Canada and Southern India including the States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.

Born in British Columbia, Canada, Daubeny holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (1984) from the University of British Columbia, and a Master of Public Administration (1990) from the University of Victoria.

Daubeny joined the Canadian diplomatic service in 1988 and has held various posts through her career, primarily in trade. Notably, in 1995, she opened and headed Canada’s first consulate in Guadalajara, Mexico. More recently she served as Senior Trade Commissioner at Canada’s High Commission in London, from 2009 to 2013. Immediately prior to her posting in India, Ms. Daubeny served as the Director of the Science, Technology and Innovation Division at Global Affairs Canada, from January 2015 until August 2016.

Speaking about her new position as the Head of Canada’s mission in Bengaluru, Consul General Daubeny said, “I had early exposure to Indian culture and food through close family friends in British Columbia. I am very excited to be representing Canada in such a diverse and fascinating country and supporting Canadian interests in Southern India, including enhancing the profile of Canada in this region. On a personal level, I am looking forward to exploring the amazing natural and man-made sites in the region and trying a wide range of Indian foods.”

Consul General Katherine B. Hadda assumed the post of U.S. Consul General in Hyderabad on October 18, 2016. Ms. Hadda is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, with 28 years of experience in policy positions in Asia, Europe, and Washington, DC. She recently served as Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Rome, where she promoted bilateral and regional trade and investment, entrepreneurship, and improved cyber security. Prior to Rome, Ms. Hadda was an Associate Dean at the Foreign Service Institute, and was responsible for training State Department and other U.S. government officials in economic and regional studies as well as preparing them for assignments in Afghanistan, Iraq, and other conflict areas. Her other assignments include Afghanistan, China, Taiwan, the U.K. and New Zealand, as well as in the State Department, the U.S. Trade Representative’s Office, and as a fellow in the U.S. Congress.

Ms. Hadda speaks Mandarin Chinese and Italian. Originally from New York City, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Smith College, and her Master of Arts degree in International Affairs from Columbia University. Her husband, Michael Andrews, is an Information Technology consultant specializing in content strategy. When not overseas, the couple lives in Arlington, Virginia.

VAdm Pradeep Chauhan is the Director of the National Maritime Foundation, New Delhi — an appointment he took over on 01 August 2017. The admiral retired in December 2013 after an extremely distinguished four-decade- long service career, wherein he commanded several of the Indian Navy’s frontline surface combatants including the aircraft carrier INS Viraat. He has enjoyed untrammelled success as the Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff for Foreign Cooperation and Intelligence, the Chief of the Staff of the Western Naval Command, and, the Commandant of the new state-of- the-art Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala, Kerala. Not one to rest on past laurels, he has remained active even after retirement and is a much sought-after leadership mentor and an outstanding orator. Over the past three years he has been repeatedly invited to speak upon an impressive array of subjects to discerning audiences in India and abroad, and has mesmerised them all. He is also a prolific writer on maritime affairs and leadership issues. In the 3½ years since his retirement, he has had over 70 professional articles and papers published in a large variety of Indian and foreign journals and magazines. His latest book, entitled “India’s Maritime Strategy", which has been commissioned by the National Maritime Foundation, New Delhi, is presently in its final stages. Apart from being on the visiting faculty of the higher-command establishments of all three of our defence services, as also tri-Service establishments such as the College of Defence Management, Hyderabad and the National Defence College, New Delhi, he has also been advising the government through the National Security Council Secretariat and the Joint Intelligence Committee. He enjoys international renown as an incisive strategic analyst, and is a respected Adviser and Fellow of several important think-tanks including the Ananta-Aspen Centre, the Forum for Strategic and Security Studies, and the Centre for Advanced Strategic and Security Studies.

Rajendra Srivastava is the Dean of the Indian School of Business (ISB) and the Novartis Professor of Marketing strategy and Innovation. He comes with an experience of over 30 years as an academic and administrator. He has held several tenured faculty and administrative positions during his career. Before joining the ISB, he was Provost and Deputy President of Academic Affairs at Singapore Management University.

Rajendra Srivastava’s research interests include Marketing Strategy, Marketing Metrics, and Brand/Customer Management. His current work focuses on Business Model Innovations, especially in Services, B2B, Technology and Emerging Markets. He is best known globally, for his work on measuring the impact of market-facing business processes (innovation, supply-chain and customer management), that create value for customers, and the value of market-based assets (customers, channels, brands and value networks). He is also well known for his work in competitive market structures and brand equity/strategic brand management. His latest research and teaching interests include Business Model Innovation, Strategic Performance Management, Marketing Accountability and Driving Growth and Shareholder Value.

Rajendra Srivastava is a highly cited scholar with work published in leading marketing journals. He is also the recipient of several awards and honours. He has been actively involved in setting up several new postgraduate and doctoral programmes as well as research centres and initiatives in close collaboration with industry. He has also been involved in consulting and senior management training with global MNCs and brings a unique blend of experiences integrating academic and business perspectives from the west and the east. He is committed to cross-functional integration in management of business processes and has championed inter-disciplinary research and academic programmes, and has nurtured multi-disciplinary areas of excellence in financial markets, innovation and business analytics.

His research, spanning marketing and finance/economics, has been published in the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Science and Journal of Banking and Finance. He was a guest editor for the Journal of Marketing Research's Special Issue on Brand Management and Equity, and the Journal of Marketing Special Issue on Marketing Strategy Meets Wall Street. Additionally, he has served on the editorial boards of several academic journals including Journal of Marketing Research (JMR) and International Journal for Research in Marketing (IJRM).

Prior to SMU he held distinguished research chairs and senior management positions at the University of Texas at Austin and Emory University in Atlanta. Dr. D’Souza has conducted field research in Afghanistan, Pakistan, China, Africa, Canada, United States, Jammu and Kashmir and India’s North East.

Dr D'Souza has presented papers at various academic and policy forums and has numerous publications to her credit. Among her most recent published work is an edited book titled Afghanistan in Transition: Beyond 2014?, co-edited books, Perspectives on South Asian Security and Saving Afghanistan. She has guest edited a special issue on “Countering insurgencies and violent extremism in South Asia” in Small Wars & Insurgencies (UK: Routledge), February 2017. She has contributed chapters to edited books, international peer reviewed journal articles, encyclopedias (Europa and Britannica), yearbooks and regional surveys and op-eds in the national and international media on issues relating to security, political parties, political leaders and developments in Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, China, Africa, Australia, South Asia, West Asia and South East Asia. T.P. Sreenivasan is a former Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, Vienna and Governor for India of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna and Ambassador to Austria and Slovenia (2000-2004), T.P. Sreenivasan has served in the Indian Foreign Service for 37 years. His previous postings were as Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy of India, Washington, (1997-2000) High Commissioner of India to Kenya and Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations in Nairobi, (1995-1997) Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, New York. (1992-1995) and Ambassador to Fiji and 8 other South Pacific Island States (1986-1989). He has also served in New Delhi, Tokyo, Thimphu, New York and Yangon. He rose to the highest level in the Indian Foreign Service in 2001 and retired in 2004.

Sreenivasan has nearly 20 years of experience in multilateral diplomacy and has represented India at a number of international conferences organised by the United Nations, the Commonwealth and the Nonaligned Movement. He has chaired several UN Committees and Conferences.Mr. Sreenivasan has a creditable academic record, having stood first in the University of Kerala in B.A. (English) and M.A. (English). He has won several distinctions during his student days. He speaks Japanese and Russian.

Sreenivasan was a member of the National Security Advisory Board of the Government of India from 2009 to 2012. He is presently the Director General, Kerala International Centre and an Adviser to ‘Asianet’ and produces a weekly TV programme on international issues entitled ‘Videsa Vicharam’. Mr. Sreenivasan is married to Lekha Sreenivasan who is an Indian classical dancer and painter. She is the founder chairperson of Karuna Charities International. The couple has two children; one of them, Sreenath Sreenivasan is the Chief Digital Officer of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and the other, Sreekanth Sreenivasan is working for the KEF Holdings and the Faizal and Shabana Foundation in Dubai.

Mr. Vinod K. Jacob belongs to the 2000 Batch of the Indian Foreign Service. He has served in Beijing and New York (Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations). At Headquarters, he has served as Desk Officer on China as well as Director (Deputy Director General level) in the division dealing with Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran. Since October 2017, Mr. Jacob is Head of Economic Diplomacy & States Division.

He also has experience on UN matters, including elections. Most recently, he was campaign coordinator for re-election of Judge Dalveer Bhandari to the International Court of Justice in 2017.

Mr. Jacob is a Chinese language speaker who is reasonably fluent in Hindi, Tamil and Malyalam.

Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav has taken over charge as General Manager, South Central Railway on 10th January, 2017. Prior to this new assignment, he was serving as Executive Director, Railway Electrification Projects, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), New Delhi.  Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav belongs to the 1980 batch of Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE).

His academic qualifications include a Masters Degree in Business Administration – MBA (Technology Management) from La Trobe University, Australia and a Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering) from Allahabad University, Uttar Pradesh. He holds immense experience in the fields of Project Management; General Management; Industrial Policy Formulation, Foreign Collaboration & Foreign Direct Investment; Management of Sector Specific International Technical Programmes and Co-ordination of World Bank and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Funding.

Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav began his working career on Indian Railways as Assistant Electrical Engineer in February, 1982. During the course of his illustrious career, Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav held several important executive and managerial positions on Indian Railways and on deputation to various Organizations. On Indian Railways, he served as – Chief Electrical Engineer, Planning/Traction Distribution, Northern Railway; Divisional Railway Manager, Lucknow Division, North Eastern Railway; Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operation), Delhi Division, Northern Railway; Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer (Construction); Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer, Loco Workshop, Lucknow and as Senior Electrical Engineer (Construction).

Amongst the assignments he held on deputation are- as Group General Manager (Electrical), Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited; Programme Manager, Technology Diffusion and Support Programme and as Project Director, International Centre for Advancement of Manufacturing Technology at United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO); he was also the Director, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Industry, Government of India and as Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer (Electrical), Indian Railway Construction Company Limited (IRCON).

He also held an important foreign assignment as Deputy Manager (Electrical), IRCON at Turkey, where he was instrumental in planning, execution and commissioning of Railway Electrification Project for Turkish Railway.

Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav is a fitness freak and a sports enthusiast. He also holds a keen interest towards Indian Classical Music and Art.
