Message from the Dean
Welcome to the first issue of the ISB Update - the ISB's online newsletter. The ISB has come a long way since we started the first post-graduate programme in July 2001. A lot has happened in the last six months. We formally inaugurated the school; we launched our executive programmes and we set up our first centre of excellence. Faculty from some of the world's leading schools including Wharton, Kellogg, LBS, Chicago, Duke, Stanford, and Minnesota have come to teach here. Over the last six months, several industry leaders and entrepreneurs have visited the campus and interacted with our exceptionally talented and diverse founding class. The admissions process for the second year is under way, and placements for the class of 2002 have already begun. Every aspect of the school - the outstanding faculty, the contemporary curriculum, the state-of-the-art-facilities has received excellent feedback and ratings from visitors, students, and executive programme participants. The visiting faculty have enjoyed teaching here and have expressed their desire to come back and teach another term.

2002 promises to be just as exhilarating and eventful for the ISB as 2001 was. In addition to regular updates on the events and developments at the school, the ISB Update will bring to you some management mantras as well. The 'CEO Speak' section captures the wealth of thought and experience that some of our corporate visitors have shared with us. 'Cutting Edge' comprises articles from our stellar faculty who are not only the best academicians in their respective fields, but are also involved in research projects at the frontiers of knowledge.

I hope that you will enjoy reading the ISB Update.
