PGP launch and class profile

The ISB launched its first post-graduate programme in management in July 2001. The founding class of the ISB, with an average GMAT score of 690, average age of 26 years, and average work experience of 4.6 years, is exceptionally talented and diverse.

Faculty

The first class is in its fifth term now. During the four terms, faculty from the ISB's partner schools - The Wharton School, Kellogg School of Management, London Business School, as well as from other leading global institutions such as, Chicago, Duke, Minnesota, and Stanford have come to teach here.

Corporate interaction

A number of entrepreneurs and business leaders have visited the campus and interacted with the students. These corporate visitors included:

International programmes

Two students have been selected to go to London Business School, and three to Kellogg School of Management for the exchange programmes that begin in Jan 2002.

Eight students have been selected to work with students of Goizueta Business School at Emory University for the Goizueta Marketing Strategy Competition and have made a consulting trip to Emory University.

15 students from the ISB and 15 from Wharton have begun working on 3 projects (Mahindra & Mahindra, Max India, Satyam Computer Services) under the Wharton Global Consulting Practicum.

Placements

The placements process for the first batch is in progress. The Resume Book was compiled and sent out to 200 recruiters in the first round. Several organisations have made pre-placement visits to the campus. The Placement Microsite has gone live and the rolling placements process began on January 11.

Admissions

The admissions process for the second post-graduate programme has begun. Two rounds of roadshows in India (Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune), the World MBA Tour in Singapore and Hong Kong, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the GMAC US Tour in New York, Washington, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles have been completed.

Interviews for the first round of applications have been completed and 37 offers of admission have been made. The profile of the first round of offers is: GMAT 710, Age 27 years, Work experience 5.16 years. Applications for the second deadline are being screened and short-listed for interviews to be conducted during the second and third weeks of February.
