Professor Deepa Mani Deepa Mani is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at the Indian School of Business (ISB). Her research interests lie in the organisation and value of outsourcing relationships, the impact of IT on firm value and the productivity and impact of IT on society. She is interested in studying the nature of technology-enabled product and process innovations, identifying the managerial capabilities and interventions required of these innovations, and estimating the role of these capabilities in explaining variation in the long-term financial value of firms. Outsourcing is an important process innovation that has been the focus of her research, in particular issues of governance, contract management and compliance, including their role in explaining heterogeneity in the strategic value created by outsourcing initiatives. Her research has been published or is forthcoming in journals such as MIS Quarterly, MIS Quarterly Executive and Sloan Management Review.

She holds a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Austin and an MS degree in Information Systems from Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to this she completed her PGDMA from the University of Mumbai and BA (Honors) in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University.

Professor Mani has worked as a technology consultant in the healthcare and financial services industries and was the founder of HumanArray, a company that provided professional service, technology and information assurance solutions.
