The Healthcare Club at the ISB is hosting the ISB Healthcare Summit on Wednesday, November 28, 2007. This is the first time the Club will be having an entire event dedicated exclusively to the Hospital and Healthcare Industries.

The theme for the Summit this year is “Prescription for Tomorrow”. The last decade has seen the Healthcare sector transition from a static and seemingly inconspicuous industry to an increasingly dynamic and significant one today. We have come a long way from the era of small hospitals to the present “corporate age”. At the same time, we have a long way to go before we can dream of making high quality private healthcare a reality for the masses of India. The Indian Healthcare Industry is presently at a crucial juncture and the coming years will decide whether the industry prospers or derails into a complex system fraught with inefficiencies, lack of affordability and unsustainability, faced by many other countries today.

The Summit this year intends to look at the road ahead for the Industry. Through a series of insightful talks and discussions involving the Industry leaders of today, we intend to chart out a roadmap for the years to come. The Summit will feature prominent speakers from major Hospital groups of the country who will discuss some of the burning issues faced by the industry today.
