Dear Reader,

Information Technology is a topic much written about. Yet, our cover story dares to give more thoughts to an already overloaded reader population. We believe that innovations in this area, the confidence it has generated amongst entrepreneurs and innovators, in fact, all Indians, the evolving dynamics of various roles, the untapped opportunities in rural India, and many more reasons, make it worthwhile, especially when it is leading professors and entrepreneurs that are sharing their ideas.

The ISB professors have been winning laurels for the School, many of them have published research papers in acclaimed academic journals, a clear acknowledgement of Indian faculty making a mark in international academic circles. The ISB faculty also won awards and successfully roped in multinational companies to collaborate with them on Research and teaching new subjects such as Services Science. Needless to say, where the need for this science arises, the IT service industry leads the way yet again.

This issue has attracted a number of student articles – in Real Estate, in IT services for rural India, etc. The ISBInsight team hopes to get more such articles in forthcoming issues to showcase fresh ideas of young, confident Indians who are setting out to make a mark for themselves and their country.

The ISB has introduced several new subjects in this year’s curriculum. Gender Leadership was a well attended course that prompted us to look at it closely. And sure enough there is plenty to learn about the subtle currents that shape gender dynamics in the workplace.

I hope you enjoy this issue. As always, I look forward to your feedback. The email addresses for getting in touch with us are: subscribe_insight@isb.edu and editor_insight@isb.edu
