Bocconi Students Feel Pampered On Campus

Professor Erica Corbellini’s class of 27 students was an ensemble of colourful, chattering students, who emerged out of the lecture theatre and spread out around the ISB atrium. Michele Lunati, Cristina Cattani, Davide Szep, Alessia Palumbo, were at the ISB, as a part of the ‘Campus Abroad Programme’ of Bocconi University, Milan, Italy. This study tour is part of ISB’s International Students’ Exchange Programme. The focus of such a programme is to gain perspective on emerging economies and also serves as a networking and exchange opportunity.
“The infrastructure here is truly world class and the level of faculty is international,” said Lunati in justification of destination ISB. “We feel pampered here,” shared Cattani. Szep observed, “The ambition and the confidence of the students here struck me. There is a sense of fairness, which is remarkable.” The group wished that they had more interaction time with the students at the ISB. Said Lunati, “We gathered that they most of them have work experience and bring their competencies here. It would be great to share more insights with them.”
Talking about the India experience, Palumbo said, “US markets are saturated. So India and China offer more possibilities. The wonderful functioning of democracy here is what I am going to take back.” Cattani added, “I came here to be a part of the ISB experience and also as Hyderabad has a large industry sector.”
The program’s learning process is supported and enhanced by business cases discussion, guest speakers and several company visits. A specific part was dedicated to the analysis of the Indian region, both as a candidate for manufacturing sourcing and as a potential market for Italian companies.
