M Rammohan Rao
Professor M Rammohan Rao is Professor and Dean Emeritus at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (ISB). He was the Dean of the ISB from July 1, 2004 to January 7, 2009. Earlier, he was Director of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore from 1997-2002. He held various positions at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B), including those of Professor, Visiting Professor, Dean, Director and Professor Emeritus. He also taught as a tenured Professor of Operations Research at the Stern School of Business, New York University and as an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Management, University of Rochester. He was a visiting faculty at the University of Tennessee.
His current teaching and research interests are in the areas of Optimisation and Financial Derivatives. As a Research Fellow, Professor Rao was associated with the International Institute of Management, Science Center, Berlin, Germany, and the International Center for Management Sciences, Center for Operations Research and Econometrics, University Catholique de Louvain, Belgium. He also conducted research at the Operations Research Group, United States Steel Corporation, Applied Research Laboratory, and Monroeville, Pennsylvania.
An illustrious academic, renowned worldwide for his research and teaching capabilities, Professor Rao has published over 85 articles in various professional journals. He has a PhD in Industrial Administration from the Graduate School of Industrial Administration, Carnegie-Mellon University. He has two Masters degrees – Master of Science in Industrial Administration from Carnegie-Mellon University and Master of Engineering (Industrial) from Cornell University.
