ISB Leadership Summit 2006

On behalf of the students of the Indian School of Business (ISB), we take great pleasure in announcing the launch of the ISB Leadership Summit (ILS 2006).

The Leadership Summit is the flagship event of ISB and a platform for evoking thought leadership in a global business environment. The summit is an ideal platform for today’s eminent leaders to meet and inspire the leaders of tomorrow.

This year’s summit is a tribute to the achievements of young leaders of India, in the fields of business, politics, academic, literature and sports. These leaders have a vision for ‘India Next’, which we will explore and discuss in our summit.

Date: January 11, 2006
Venue: Indian School of Business, Hyderabad
Theme: India Next

ILS ’06 shall focus on the following two issues:

  • Opening Keynote: India Inc., An odyssey - Low cost to high value: This address would deal with the transformation that India is undergoing from being a low cost player in the global arena to being a provider of high value.

  • Panel Discussion 1 - Youth Participation in Politics: We explore the motivations for the ‘educated’ youth to consider politics as a mechanism to make a positive difference to society. Over the recent years, several young and educated Indians have embarked on the path of politics and are making significant contributions ranging from the grass root level to the halls of Indian parliament. We will discuss the impact the participation of youth has on our system.

  • Panel Discussion 2 - The synergy between government and business in ‘India Next’: We explore the importance of public-private partnerships in developing the social infrastructure in India. We aim to address issues related to the government shedding control and encouraging involvement of business in development. Complimenting the same, with the role of business in creating synergies with the government to enable the benefits of development to percolate across the social fabric and diversity within the nation.
