2006 is a ‘Year of many Highlights’ for the Indian School of Business.
ISB celebrated its fifth anniversary in the year 2006.
George Bush, the then President of the USA, visited ISB in March 2006.
The then Prime Minister of India - Dr, Manmohan Singh visited ISB in December 2006.
ISB Alumni Association (ISB AA) was launched in the year 2006.
ISB sets a record with placements touching new highs for the Class of 2006. ISB recorded the highest international annual package of $233,800 for one of the students. Four of ISB graduates bagged offers that had broken the $200,000 mark.
Ratan Tata, the then Chairman of TATA Group, was the Chief Guest at the ISB Graduation Day held in April 2006.
ISB has the privilege of hosting Head of State and Head of Country every 5 years.
ISB hosted the then Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the School’s inauguration in 2001.
ISB hosted the then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh for the School’s fifth anniversary celebrations in 2006. It was the same year in which George Bush, the then President of the USA, visited ISB.
ISB hosted the then President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil for the School’s tenth anniversary celebrations in 2011.
ISB hosted Honourable President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee for the School’s fifteenth anniversary celebrations in 2016.
ISB’s First PGP Graduation Day was held in June and not in April.
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was the Chief Guest at our First Graduation Day in June 2002. He was then the President-elect*, at that time. Exactly 10 years later, he visited the ISB for the second time, in 2012, and this time, as a Former President of India for an external party event hosted at the ISB.
ISB, Mohali campus was inaugurated exactly after 11 years of inauguration of ISB, Hyderabad.
Sixteen years ago, on December 2, 2001, ISB was formally inaugurated to the nation by the then Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and 11 years later on December 2, 2012, the Mohali campus was formally inaugurated by the then Finance Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram. ISB Day also coincides with ISB’s Founder Chairman, Mr Rajat Gupta’s birthday.

Abhijeet Vadera from the PGP Class of 2003 came back to ISB as a Resident Faculty.
ISB alumnus Abhijeet Vadera from the PGP Class of 2003, worked as a Teaching Assistant at PGP Office for a year (2003-2004) and came back to ISB as a Resident Faculty wherein he worked for 5 years (2010-2015).
