The Wharton Global Consulting Practicum (WGCP) is a cross-functional, globally oriented programme to educate you in the problems of international business and the skills of consulting. It is an elective course under the Strategic Marketing concentration area for which you earn two course credits.
Students from Wharton and the ISB jointly help Indian companies to enter the North American market or enhance their positions in the same. Each team is composed of five students each from ISB and Wharton and guided by faculty from both schools. A competitive process will determine the selection of participants for this programme. The final number of projects, descriptions of each, and other details will be released prior to team selection in early October. The programme may not be offered every year depending on a number of factors.
Established in 1978 at Wharton, the GCP has benefited over 150 partner companies worldwide through sound recommendations which generated more than $ 400 million in incremental revenue. The ISB-Wharton GCP has partnered with Mahindra & Mahindra, Max India, Satyam Computers, Medusind Solutions, and Apollo Hospital Group.
The WGCP is an excellent opportunity for you to apply the concepts, tools, and paradigms you learn in your classes to real business problems.
