Independent Study (INDS)
The Independent Study (INDS) course allows students to explore areas of interest that are not covered in the curriculum. A maximum of two students can work together on an INDS under the guidance of a resident faculty member or one of the visiting faculty/visiting scholars teaching on the programme.
Students can enroll in a maximum of two INDS courses during Terms 5-8. An INDS is graded as a Pass Fail course and therefore, will not be included in the required credit count, i.e., the course can neither be part of the 33 minimum credits required for graduation nor can it be counted towards a concentration area. However, the course can be counted towards the maximum credit limit of 36 credits. The final transcript will record INDS with a Pass/Fail grade.
