A unique online treasure hunt that will engage participating
teams from across the globe. Clues will be cryptic
technology related hints posted on the Poseidon website
that will require teams to think and research. Participating
teams will have to register and will be given daily
clues on the website over a period of a two weeks
before Poseidon. It would be required to solve each
stage to proceed to the next level.
First Prize: Rs. 20,000
Second Prize: Rs. 15,000
Third Prize: Rs. 10,000
Five additional prizes of Rs. 1,000 for the next five
runners up
General rules:
All full-time and part-time students enrolled in
a graduate program of business administration during
the academic year 2005-2006 are eligible to participate
in the competition.
Teams should register on the Poseidon website before
the December 01, 2005.
Team formation rules:
Each team must consist of 2 to 4 members
All team members must be enrolled in the same business
administration program.
There is no limit on the number of entries per institute.
A participant cannot be member of more than one
team.
Valid institutional email address will be required
for registration.
Stage 1 (December 3-7th 2005):
First stage will run for five days and will consist
of five hunts, one per day.
The clues for each hunt will be posted at 8pm on
each day. The hunt will close at midnight on the same
day (duration of each hunt will be 4 hours). No submissions
will be accepted past midnight.
To reach the clues, the team will need to answer
a trivia question. The correct number of trivia question
answered will be considered in case of tie break between
teams.
The team can resubmit the answer within duration
of the hunt. However, the second submission will overwrite
the previous answers and last submission will only
be valid.
The clues will be in the visuals, sounds or text.
Every successful hunt will win 100 points for the
team.
Even if the team fails to crack a hunt, it will
be able to access the clues for the successive hunts
on the following days.
The time taken between the first time the team
has accessed the clues and the last submission of
the answer will be recorded and will be used in the
case of tie break in addition to trivia score.
Stage 2 (December 8-9th 2005):
Second stage will run for two days and will consist
of two hunts, one per day. The hunt will be similar
to stage 1, the only difference being that an additional
bonus equal to minutes remaining till midnight will
be awarded. For e.g. Answer submitted at 9pm will
get 180 bonus points.
The total points earned in stage 1 and 2 will be
used to qualify for stage 3.
Stage 3 (December 11th 2005, Sunday):
Top scoring 25 teams will advance to the final
stage. This stage will start at 9pm and end at midnight.
This stage will comprise of six "rapid-fire" hunts
and the clues for all hunts will be released at the
same time at 9pm.
The first five "rapid-fire" hunts will have a common
theme, which will help answer the last called the
"Treasure Trove".
Each correct answer to the "rapid-fire" hunts will
earn 100 points and the "Treasure Trove" hunt will
be worth 250 points.
The team with maximum overall points for all hunts
wins the game. In case of a tie, the overall time
taken for stage 3 starting 9pm will be used as tie-breaker

Hunt 2005 closes at 11:59 hrs.
December 03-07: Stage 1 (8pm - midnight on each day)
December 08-09: Stage 2 (8pm - midnight on each day)
December 10: The top 25 teams announced for stage 3
December 11: Stage 3 (9pm - midnight)
December 13: Winners of LΛBΨRINTH declared.
