The Indian School of Business endeavors to promote entrepreneurial application of technology among B-School students. In line with this goal, Poseidon 2005 presents you the Technology Innovation Challenge, an opportunity for business school students to exhibit their ability to ideate and concisely articulate bright, technology related business ideas.

The participating teams have to conceive a business idea in a technology domain and present it as a business plan. The contest involves three stages and two rounds of evaluation.

Rules

General rules:

  • All full-time and part-time students enrolled in a graduate program of business administration during the academic year 2005-06 are eligible to participate in the competition
  • Teams should register on the Poseidon website before sending in their entry
  • A unique team Id will be provided to each team upon successful registration.

Team formation rules:

  • Each team must consist of 2 to 6 members.
  • All team members must be enrolled in the same business administration program.
  • There is no limit on the number of entries per institute.
  • A participant cannot be member of more than one team.
  • No changes are allowed in the team after registration.

Contest will be held in following stages:

Stage 1:

  • Each team will be required to send in an executive summary for their business plan on a technology related business idea. Executive summary should be comprehensive to highlight key aspects of the plan.
  • Format of submission:
    • Page Limit: maximum 5 pages (including exhibits)
    • Font: 12 point Times New Roman font, 1.5 line spacing and page margins of 1" all around
    • File Type: PDF
    • Each entry should have a cover page (not included in the 5 page count) containing only the team Id.
    • File name: TechInnovation_TeamId.pdf
    • There should not be any mention of the school name or any of the student's names anywhere in the document, including the cover page
  • Entries should be emailed to tech-innovation@isb.edu by 11:59 PM (IST) on or before Nov 30th 2005. Email subject line should be "Tech Innovation Challenge, TeamId".
  • Ten teams will be short listed for the second round based on uniqueness of idea, technical and financial feasibility.
  • Results for this stage will be declared by Dec 3rd 2005.

Stage 2:

  • Top 10 teams from round 1 will advance to round 2 and will need to submit the complete business plan.
  • Format of submission:
    • Page Limit: a maximum of 15 pages (including exhibits)
    • Font: 12 point Times New Roman font, 1.5 line spacing and page margins of 1" all around
    • File Type: PDF
    • Each entry should have a cover page (not included in the 15 page count) containing only the team Id
    • File name: TechInnovation_TeamId.pdf
    • There should not be any mention of the school name or any of the student's names anywhere in the document, including the cover page.
  • Entries should be emailed to tech-innovation@isb.edu by 11:59 PM (IST) on Dec.12th 2005. Email subject line should be "Tech Innovation Challenge, TeamId".
  • This is not an elimination stage.

Stage 3:

  • Top 10 teams who entered round 2 will need to present their business plan to panel of judges on Dec 16th, 2005.
  • Further information on this stage will be emailed to short-listed teams.
