- Faculty members at the ISB are engaged in cutting-edge research in various areas of business management. For more information on the Faculty research publications, please visit the working papers section of the website.
- The ISB has an active weekly research seminar series which presents a platform where researchers from around the world present their research at the School. In Brown Bag seminars, researchers present their ongoing work. The ISB also hosts several international level academic research conferences and seminars that make for an engaging research atmosphere.
- The ISB houses five Centres of Excellence that aim to promote research and create knowledge. The centres provide valuable support to faculty and pre-doctoral students’ research activity by organising conferences, inviting renowned scholars on research visits, and providing funding for needs such as data and information technology resources. A brief description of each of the centres follows.
- The Centre for Analytical Finance (CAF)
Established in August 2004, CAF is the newest of the few finance research centres housed in academic institutions across Asia. CAF is dedicated to research in all areas of finance, including financial markets, instruments, institutions, and regulations. The research activities of the Centre often focus on issues and problems in emerging economies, but are by no means limited to them. In addition to the ISB faculty, CAF researchers include distinguished scholars from Berkeley, Chicago, Cornell, Kellogg, NYU, UCLA, Wharton, and other institutions of global standing. CAF has also established research partnerships with major international and Indian think tanks leading to collaborative research and joint conferences.
- The Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (WCED)
The vision of the WCED is to be a world-renowned entrepreneurship centre by nurturing the spirit of enterprise in students and building a network to promote their efforts in the business environment. The WCED also offers entrepreneurs opportunities to learn and to interact with the right sources to build global competitiveness. The Centre has taken up the task of supporting aspiring entrepreneurs throughout the cycle, from conceptualisation to grounding of their projects.
- The Centre for Global Logistics and Manufacturing Strategies (GLAMS)
GLAMS aims to create a body of generic logistics and supply chain management knowledge, which can be customised to specific companies, industries, and countries. It engages in state-of-the-art research, conducts training programmes, works with the Government and industry, and is rapidly becoming a knowledge power house on global logistics and manufacturing in this part of the world.
- The Centre for Information Technology and the Networked Economy (CITNE)
CITNE, launched in July 2006, is the youngest of ISB’s centres of excellence. Its mission is to encourage innovative thinking in maximising the benefit of Information and Communication Technologies to business and society. CITNE promotes analytical, empirical, and field experiment-oriented partnerships between researchers and industry.
- The Centre for Leadership, Innovation and Change
The mission of Centre for Leadership, Innovation and Change (CLIC) is to ' develop global leaders' by marrying the wisdom traditions of the East with the latest scientific research and integrating them with traditional management thought from the West. The Centre will develop programmes, research initiatives, and actionable frameworks, for assisting leaders in India and other emerging economies so that they can innovate, compete, amd succeed more effectively in global market place.
- ISB’s state-of-the-art Learning Resource Centre (LRC) offers an ideal learning environment. With a broadband communications network that ensures instant global connectivity, the LRC allows ‘anytime access’ to information. The Centre is completely Wi-Fi enabled. The resources and the online databases are among the best in the world. As the knowledge hub of ISB, the LRC holds printed as well as electronic resources offering an extensive growing collection of books and currently gives access to 360 print journals, 41 online databases, 2500 e-journals, and 1000 AV resources.
