Ramnath Chellappa Associate Professor and Area Doctoral Coordinator Information Systems & Operations Management Goizueta Business School, Emory University
Professor Chellappa is a leading expert whose research focuses on economic, behavioral and technical aspects of electronic markets. In particular, his research aims to understand how the adoption of the Internet by both consumers and vendors has changed conventional views of products and business transactions.
His work on information privacy in online transactions received the Best Paper Award at INFORMS-CIST 2003. His recent works examine pricing in the US domestic airline industry and competitive dynamics in business software industries. His research methods include analytical modeling, empirical modeling and social network analysis.
Professor Chellappa also works closely with the industry on the managerial aspects of information technology driven issues. He has served as a litigation expert on privacy related issues for major portals and he co-authored a study on the design of Identity Management systems that was supported by the Advanced Practices Council of the Society for Information Management.
He received his PhD from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas in Austin in 1997 where his work resulted in the creation and scholarly definition of the term "Cloud Computing"
Prof. Chellappa has taught courses in undergraduate, MBA, PhD and executive education programs. He has also designed and taught courses in the Medical Management Program at USC. At Emory, he teaches in the MBA and PhD programs and serves as the Area Doctoral Coordinator.

Arun Sundararajan Associate Professor and Director (IT Economics Track) Centre for Digital Economy Research Stern School of Business, New York University
Arun Sundararajan is an associate professor at NYU’s Stern School of Business, an NEC Faculty Fellow, Director of their IS Ph D programme, and Director of the IT Economics track at their Centre for Digital Economy Research. He teaches MBA students about IT and corporate strategy, doctoral students about microeconomic theory and the economics of IT, and undergraduate students about calculus in business.
His research studies is on the economics of information technology, and focusses primarily on IT and corporate strategy, digital goods, piracy and digital rights management, network effects, reputation systems, how social networks affect economic outcomes, and how IT transforms industries. He has published or has papers forthcoming in journals that include Decision Support Systems, Economics Letters, Information Systems Research, Journal of Economic Literature, Journal of Management Information Systems, Management Science, Proceedings of the National Academy of Science and Statistical Science. His research has won three Best Paper awards, and has been profiled by publications such as BusinessWeek, the Financial Times and the Tokyo Shimbun. His opinion pieces have appeared in BusinessToday, the Financial Times, the Economic Times, and SternBusiness.
Professor Sundararajan is a Senior Editor at Information Systems Research, has served on the editorial boards of Management Science and MIS Quarterly as an associate editor, serves on the advisory board of SSRN’s ebusiness/ecommerce journal, and was the founding co-chair of the NYU Summer Workshop on the Economics of IT. His past doctoral students hold academic positions at a number of leading institutions which include Dartmouth College, Tel-Aviv University, the University of Maryland, the University of Rochester, the University of Southern California, and the Wharton School. He has consulted on pricing and product strategy for firms that include E*Trade, Microsoft and Xerox Corporation.
Professor Sundararajan has degrees in electrical engineering, operations research and business administration from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and the University of Rochester.

Ravij Banker Merves Chair in Accounting and Information Technology Fox School of Business, Temple University
Rajiv D Banker is the Merves Chair and Director of the Centre for Accounting and Information Technology at the Fox School of Business, Temple University. He received several academic awards, including those for standing first at the Bachelor of Science examination at the University of Bombay. He received a Doctorate in Business Administration from Harvard University concentrating in Planning and Control Systems
Dr Banker’s research interests range from analytical modelling to statistical analysis of data collected from different companies to address complex or emerging problems of importance to managers. His research on information systems explores issues of technology enabled competitive strategy, investments in information technology, software productivity and quality metrics, and management of software development and maintenance. His research in accounting addresses questions pertaining to performance measurement, incentive compensation, strategic cost management and public accounting industry analysis. His research in management science includes the development of new analytical methods for productivity and efficiency evaluation. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the Financial Executives Research Foundation, the Institute of Management Accountants, and several leading corporations.
Dr Banker is internationally recognised as a leader in interdisciplinary research in management. He has received numerous awards for his research, including awards for Notable Contribution to the Management Accounting Literature and Notable Contribution to the Governmental Accounting Literature by the American Accounting Association, and best paper awards at international conferences in information systems and in accounting. He has published more than 150 articles in prestigious research journals including Management Science, Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Communications of ACM, IEEE Transactions in Software Engineering, Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and Econometrica.
Dr Banker received a Bachelor of Science degree with Highest Honors from the University of Bombay concentrating in Mathematics and Economics.

Alok Gupta Professor and Chair of Information and Decision Sciences Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota
Alok Gupta is a Professor and Chair of Information and Decision Sciences at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He also serves on the Accenture Management Developmental Academy's academic board and is helping us make a bridge to the MIS Research Center at the Carlson School at UMN. He received his PhD in Management Science and Information from the University of Texas, Austin.
He was an Assistant Professor at Department of OPIM, University of Connecticut from 1996 to 2001. His research has been published in various information systems, economics, and computer science journals such as ISR, CACM, JMIS, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Computational Economics, Decision Support Systems, IEEE Internet Computing, International Journal of Flexible Manufacturing Systems, Information Technology Management, and Journal of Organizational Computer and Electronic Commerce. In addition, his articles have been published in several leading books in the area of economics of electronic commerce.
He was awarded a prestigious NSF CAREER Award for his research on dynamic pricing mechanisms on the internet. From 1999-2001, he served as co-director of Treibick Electronic Commerce Initiative (TECI), an endowed research initiative at Department of OPIM, University of Connecticut. He is also an affiliate of the Center for Research in Electronic Commerce (CREC) at the University of Texas at Austin. He serves on the editorial boards of DSS and Brazilian Electronic Journal of Economics. He teaches courses in the areas of computer networking, electronic commerce, decision support, IT infrastructure, and computer programming at the undergraduate, MBA and PhD levels.

V Sambamurthy Professor of Information Technology Eli Broad College of Business, Michigan State University
Sambamurthy (PhD, University of Minnesota, 1989) is the Eli Broad Professor of Information Technology and Executive Director of the Center for Leadership of the Digital Enterprise at the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at Michigan State University. He has previously served on the faculties of the business schools at The University of Maryland and The Florida State University. He has expertise in how firms successfully leverage information technologies in their business strategies, products, services, and organisational processes.
He has researched issues related to the impacts of CIO and top management team characteristics on firms’ success with IT assimilation, the impacts of institutional forces on organisational IT assimilation, and the capabilities associated with strategic leverage of IT. His current research interest is on the role of information technology management as a digital options platform and an enabler of strategic agility. Most of his work has been funded by the Financial Executives Research Foundation, the Advanced Practices Council (APC), and the National Science Foundation. His work has been published in journals such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Management Science, Organization Science, Decision Sciences, and the IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Information Systems Research and is on the editorial board of Management Science.
He has previously served as Senior Editor for MIS Quarterly, Department Editor for IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, and Americas Editor for the Journal of Strategic Information Systems. In addition, he has served on the editorial boards of Information Systems Research, Organization Science, and MIS Quarterly Executive. Sambamurthy has previously served as Conference Co-Chair for ICIS 2004 in Washington DC. He also serves as the Academic Co-Chair of the Business Technology Management Institute, a non-profit entity dedicated to development and dissemination of knowledge related to the strategic management and alignment of information technologies in organisations.
Sambamurthy teaches a variety of courses related to the integration of information technology and corporate strategy in the full-time MBA, Executive MBA, and doctoral programs. He has won teaching awards for his performance. He has been actively involved in executive education on current topics such as the shaping of digital transformations, strategic management of IT, and the management of IT innovation in firms. He has worked with several Fortune 500 firms including 3M, AstraZennecca, General Dynamics, Owens Corning, Intel, Bell Atlantic, Freddie Mac, and BellSouth.
