Associate Director

Karthik Rapaka is currently working as an Associate Director at Indian School of Business. His role involves adding value to management research, education and outreach activities in partnership with state/national governments, corporates and the start-up ecosystem.
In the last decade, Karthik has fully applied himself in solving complex organizational, operational and ownership challenges in both non-profit/education NGO and corporate environments. Prior to his current role at ISB, he was heading Teach For India in the Hyderabad region leading a staff team of 150 educators and raising over USD 1 Million towards the cause of providing excellent quality education to 5000 children across 45 government and low-income schools. For two years, he was also a full-time teacher to 45 first-generation school going grade II & III children at an under-resourced school in the Subjimandi Karwan area of Hyderabad old city. He moved back to India in 2012 after working as a management consultant with​ Deloitte Consulting LLP ​and clients across a dozen Fortune 500 firms (Pfizer/J&J/Ford Motor Company/​Wyeth/​American Express/Caterpillar to name a few of his clients)
Karthik completed his undergraduate (B.S – Honors) from Rutgers University where he was a James J Slade Scholar.  He wrote M.S thesis on business models for low-income communities grad​ua​ting with an M.S degree (with $80,000 worth scholarship) from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, he completed Summer Institute for General Management from Stanford GSB and Social Entrepreneurship Accelerator training from Teach For All.
