Workshop on Innovations in Technology Services 2016

Workshop on Innovations in Technology Services 2016

Technology service providers are increasingly emerging as strategic partners who impact their clients’ competitiveness and profitability. Indeed, fueled by rapid technological advances and globalisation, the scope of technology services has evolved from peripheral activities with a focus on cost reduction to include a diverse set of critical functions such as innovation, new product development, and supply chain management that impact firm performance and society. This evolution of technology services is especially pronounced and relevant in an era of rapid automation, big data and social networks. The purpose of the workshop on Innovations in Technology Services is to bring together an interdisciplinary group of researchers and industry practitioners interested in understanding the future of technology services, including but not limited to technology-enabled service innovations, newer forms of organisation of service delivery, and human capital management.

The Government of India’s mandate to develop 100 Smart Cities, promote the Start-Up ecosystem and Digitally empower its citizens; serves as a good backdrop to discuss a novel theme for this year's workshop, “Technology Enabled Societal Transformation”!

The four major themes for the workshop this year are:
  • IT Enabled Societal Transformation
  • IoT, Big Data and Service Automation
  • Technology and Entrepreneurship
  • FinTech: Innovation in Financial Services

The workshop, hosted by the Srini Raju Centre for Information Technology and the Networked Economy (SRITNE) will be held on September 23 - 24, 2016 at the Indian School of Business (ISB). It will include keynote presentations by industry and academic leaders, round table discussions on key issues in technology services delivery, and featured academic presentations.
